Simms you are not the best QB to wear an orange jersey, but you came into the toughest situations. For that, I thank you.

You played the toughest part of our schedule last year just to go to the bench for Bray.

This year Bray gets hurt and you play against the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country even though you will most likely be a backup to Worley.

We appreciate your efforts.

I expect few positive responses in this thread this soon after the game, but I'm with you. I know he wishes (and we) that he could do more, but our friend just doesn't have the ability.

Dude is a fighter, but he didn't exactly light it up against every other team he played last year. We appreciate the effort, but he just isn't a D1 QB. No hate on the guy, it is what it is.

His daddy must be proud. I can see the dinner conversations now... "Son, how in the hell do you suck so bad? There is no way you came from my loins."

Why I can't hate the guy. Worley would not have had 2 good games thats for sure.

Daddy was vastly overrated.

And I echo sentiments to Matt. Dude sucks. But he's handled situations he's dealt with class. He'll be successful in life.

I hear you, but really, the tipped interception over the middle epitomizes him. TE is open for 2 seconds as Simms is looking his direction. He then throws late and behind. I appreciate his toughness, but he's a senior and should be better at this level. Those are freshman mistakes.

I feel sorry for Simms. No, he's not Tyler Bray. But people need to show some respect.

Special thanks to Simms for losing his job 2 years in a row to a true freshman.. Get back to the bench with your clipboard.

GBO! - And not Simms...

Not his fault. The SEC will expose poor QB play. He is not an SEC caliber QB and I hope he doesn't become a locker room cancer...

Simms has balls, I'll give him that. He has started against Oregon, South Carolina, Bama and LSU Twice, Florida, and Georgia.

I am glad this thread was posted. Simms is just not a good quarterback, but played as hard as he could and took an absolute beating out there. He has my respect and my gratitude for that.

From the movie Million Dollar Baby: "Show me a fighter that's nothing but heart and I'll show you a man waiting for a beating." I think this applies to Simms.

I think the OP and most people on here are being respectful. Simms probably lost his job for at least next week, but he was served a difficult hand. He's not very good, but he's better than any of us on this thread and has kept a good tude.

I say thanks to him. He'll play more this year.

Could you do better? Not his fault.

Great guy, but SEC cannon fodder.

His biggest contribution to UT football will prove to be taking losses against LSU and Bama while Worley ramped up to start.

Face it, when fans are looking back on the Crompton era with fondness...that says something.

Go Vols.
