A small dose of reality....

I don't go to the Gator boards. Boring. No fun to talk to people that already agree with you.

But I think you buried a compliment in there so I will of course say thanks! :hi:

Yeah. It was hard for me you know, but with all this renewed optimism, it's nice to have a formidable rival playing another one (sorta... not really?).

Hope we can sneak back into the mix some day. I know you guys are getting tired of beating up on the weak sister that we've been.

I think the other thing that most people are forgetting is that our defense has to take a step back with what we are losing in the front 7. I don't think it's realistic to assume a top 5 defense again in 2009.
My thought exactly - Defense will prob. take step back not just because of what we lose, but learning a new system (please, God, just let it go smoother than the way the offense learned their new system this past season!).

It's just going to take us a little longer to warm Jake up to the 10-win season concept. :)
oh, i'm warmed up....and ready.
It took Tressel 2 seasons to get to the Natl Title game...but he beat Michigan in year 1. Kiffin doesn't need to win 11 games to have a successful 1st year...especially if he beats at least 2 of the big 3...UF, Bama and UGA.
Tressel did it in the big 10, where being succesful is defined by one game at OSU....the Michigan game.

as your avatar suggests, a little more difficult to do in the SEC obviously.
we are ut, not vandy. the expectations of only 6 wins and making a bowl game should never be satisfying to vols fans, new coach or not. i'm beginning to think that the last 5 years have done much more damage to our standards than i previously thought.

just my 2 cents.
like i said, expectations for a given year based on a set of specific circumstances can and sometimes should be different than the overall expectation we all have for the program as a whole.
