I predict that the fans of UK who want to see UT basketball fade into obscurity, the coaches from other programs who are frustrated by the attention Bruce Pearl gets and all others who want to see him fail are in for a rough basketball season.

1. Before March it will be clear that not only are we not going to receive major sanctions, and LOIC will NOT be found, it will also be clear that we are not in the top 3 programs with NCAA basketball troubles.

2. Bruce Pearl will have high profile OOC victories.

3. The SEC will do significantly better than it did last year in it's out of conference schedule. This will create and even better conference RPI heading into conference play. The SEC has a chance to shine, but more than lots of new marquee victories, I think the conference (even the West) will suffer far fewer embarrassing losses out of conference by beating the Winthrop's and Murray State's.

4. Tobias Harris and Scotty Hopson will both play well, and Tobias will attract top talent who want to play with him, and play for the coach that is helping him star on a national stage.

5. Bruce Pearl will have a solid recruiting class in 2011 and a stellar one in 2012, and the fact that 2012 will be amazing will be clear before the Vol's have finished their magical run.

6. Maymon will prove to be an in shape and athletic playmaker. His contributions and those of Fields will end up creating an extremely deep and physical frontcourt for UT.

7. This will not be a "players coach" kind of team where the ball is rolled out and people are let go. This will be a team that displays tremendous intensity and whose hard work at becoming defensive stoppers shows up in tons of forced turnovers and the ability to play tough half-court defense against teams whose guards are too talented to successfully defend full-court.

I am excited about this season and so very grateful to be invested in the success of the greatest basketball coach in the history of the University of Tennessee, Bruce Pearl.

Interesting choice of a title for your thread. It's like I've seen something similar before...

I am excited too, but I couldn't read that last sentence of the OP due to some gagging sound... not sure what that was about... yeah I am...

I seriously doubt that any coaches from other programs will be frustrated with the attention Pearl receives this season. In fact, rather than frustration, I would think they will be elated with all the attention he receives.

Pearl has exceeded all of my expections since he has been here. I don't see him stopping now. BTW, who cares about what Calipari and Calhoun think about our basketball program.

Especially this part. I wonder what it's like to be a vol fan when you hate to see the team do better than your internet predictions.

After initially being pissed after the violations were aired and agreeing with most all hat had to say, I find myself growing weary of the too cool for school crowd and their repetitive snarkiness again. I also have been really digging MHF and his recruiting posts of late. I may not agree with what Pearl and Co. did, but I'll never turn into a bitter know-it-all that has completely lost all sight of why I liked sports in the first place. It's about the game and the passion.

When Pearl took the Vols to their first ever #1 ranking, he broke the UT basketball barrier.
