Damn.

6 HR in 7 days?

5 HR in last 5 games?

You bet.

I've heard some people around the media saying 58 is a possibility. I think that is pretty much where he'll be. My friend suggested 71? I said I'd give him $50 if that happened.

But that's the question. Plus I wonder how much his clearing the air about Jeter and this being a "contract year" is affecting his play.

I thought I heard ESPN say it was 6 HR in 7 games.

Also, it's not like A-Rod just all of the sudden got good.

I think A-Rod hits a bunch of HRs, wins the MVP, then opts out of his contract at the end of the year. He can never do enough in New York.

Contract year? Is he expecting a better deal?

I hope he hits 75 HRs, drives in 180 runs, and proceeds to tell NY to kiss his ace*

*thanks vols kick balls for the inspiration on that one.

As a NYY fan who likes A-Rod, I think it would be better for both sides if they broke ties.

According to Bill James' Favorite Toy, coming into this season, Alex Rodriguez has:

- a 97% chance of hitting 600 home runs.
- a 42% chance of hitting 700.
- a 15% chance of hitting 800.

He needs a big year or two now if he's going to unseat Bonds sometime in the middle of the next decade.

A-Rod can hit 3 homers in a game and then strike out with runners on in the 9th and they would want his head. He has no chance to win over the NY media unless he hits .425, 85 HR's and 177RBI's this year...and then with that he better not make one single error! lol

Wasn't it Varitek, the guy with a catcher's mask and catching gear on at the time, that started that?

He punched Arod in the face, but it's not like Arod ran back to the dugout crying. I don't see why Arod got so much hate for that.

Yeah, real big of Varitek to smack someone when he's got a catcher's mask on.

Either way, this is my favorite moment of the A-Rod in New York Era.
