A record number of people watched the UGA game. And Vol Football is tweeting about it.

I assume that # is based on peak viewership. Probably millions of people tuning in when we were leading with 2 minutes left in the half.

Agreed and the other games were not any good and options are more limited since Dish/Fox took away regional games

Goodness we have some losers in this fanbase....Just enjoy the little successes we have this year. The ride back up will be fun for the ones that take the time to smell the roses. I'm just happy to be a VOL fan no matter what. Through the good and the bad.

I was at the Missouri game last year, there were never 88k people in the stadium.

I'm going to say Maurer starting had way way less to do with it than that #3 ranking.
Im not denying that UGA had more to do with it, but UGA has also been a top 5 team since October 2017 and this happened to be the most viewed game in October since then? It also just so happens to be the game that Maurer gets his first start. I doubt thats a coincidence.

Said it before, you folks don't realize how bad people (not just us Vols fans) want to see our team competitive again. Even Vols-haters love us.
I actually can't stand the sympathy, or faux-sympathy, from fans of other schools. That's the ultimate sign you are irrelevant - when other fans don't even give you a hard time anymore. I'd rather them josh us because it means that, at least on some level, we are actually still relevant to them. You don't talk smack to teams that don't matter. In sports, I think the absolute worst descriptor of your team or program is "irrelevant."

I'm guessing they are going by tickets sold because there was no way there were 86k there for the UTC game.

Noone except Vol fans know who Brian Maurer is or care who Maurer is. Also, if your read the ridiculously stupid nonsensical tweet again, it was the most watched game on cable in October since 2017.

Something about that Power T and Tennessee orange draws people in 🍊. Neyland was electric ⚡🍊 💯
Yeah, we drew them in for about 2 quarters until they scored two TD's with less than 2 minutes left in first half. Only ones watching in second half were UGA fans, curious Maurer fans, and those who also like watching the movie Titanic. For the record, I was one of them.

Yeah. I think you could easily knock of 10K from each figure to get to a more realistic figure.

When Tennessee and Alabama Auburn, LSU, Georgia, are good the SEC is really good, it makes the conference much better, let one of those teams fall to where we are and it takes away from the conference.

If bama was in our shoes wouldn't you watch it with delight every Saturday? I know I would lol
Not after 10, years of it. No.

We're the laughing stock of college football, but everyone wants to watch us get beat? I'm not buying it.

I agree, but I'd add florida to that group. Of the big six we have not been pulling our weight for the last ten years plus.

Yeah, and more UT fans tuned into the game because of the change of QB to see how it goes because it gave them a reason to watch. People started making plans on Saturdays rather than watch the abomination that has been on the field this year. As for your second point, like I literally said, UGA has been a top 5 team since October 2017. This happened to be the most watched game in October since then, but why? Its not because only UGA fans were watching on TV. Maurer was starting so that got more UT fans to tune in, especially since they broke the news early to let people know and that was no coincidence. Then, he was able to provide juice to the team and build a little lead late in the first half so he had fans of other schools thinking potential upset. Either way, he had a decent role in why the viewers were tuning into the game. Its not like people haven't had high profile games among any other schools for the average CFB fan to enjoy in October since 2017. As far as the tweet, you're upset over literally nothing. No social media marketer will ever say they suck, for any school. They're doing their job and shining a little light on the program that is very dark right now. What they could be saying is that even as a terrible team, 3.9 million viewers can potentially watch you play. They just sold the exposure piece to recruits. That was their point in that post.
