A quote for other recruits to read and current players....

I am not sure if this is true but I heard that the state of Tennessee has about 20 some odd players that are coming out in 2010 that will be rivals top 100. Has anyone heard this?

no, but that would be something.

No, but its been said it could be the deepest class in history. There are 7 in-state players in the early 250 watch list for 2010.

Eric Gordon....

"I hope those other guys (top in-state talent) will follow me and get up there and make it a dynasty up there. If I need to speak to a couple guys, hey, it won't be a problem."

That's the type of player(s) we need here at UT.

That sounds great but remember that Crompton said the same thing and apparently followed through at one of the all-star games he played in. But, apparently none of the players he talked to listened.

Do you think Crompton could convince anyone to do anything?

He convinced Fulmer that he could be a QB. Pretty damn good job there by Mr. Crompton. I can see him as a junk bond trader after his NFL career.

One of the biggest mistakes CPF made. Not leaving the job open longer. Crompton was not prepared to be the QB, and may never be. It got handed to him. Cut called it.

I really want to know how he did the part of the quote in parenthesis. Did he cup his hands in the "ear muffs" position? Or did he actually say "open parenthesis, close parenthesis"?

don't get too technical..i'm sure it's what was being implied.

I'm not personally excited about it, I'm just very curious to know what Kiffin said to him to get him that excited. It is nice, one way or another, to see a little fire and a little drive from our recruits/players is all.

"You will have a chance to play as a freshman. It is up to you to outwork the returning guys and get playing time however. If you're good enough, you'll come to Tennessee and prove it."

Something like that

Well, whatever he said, he got the message across pretty clear.

Are we saying that fooling Fulmer is that impressive a feat? Maybe for a mental midget like the Cromptonator.
