looking at this from UT football perspective, this could be very bad for us....tennessee must recruit nationally, getting recruits from hotbeds like texas and california is crucial to keep up our prominance in the SEC since we haave very little in state talent. we can get these kids because they want to come play in a great power conference compared to the ones in their homestate (i.e. the big 12 or pac 10). i see it being alot harder sell to kids to convince them to come play in the SEC with what would be now an equally powerful conference in the Pac-16 with USC, TX, OK..... I hope im wrong but looking at it in that perspective has me worried the glamour of playing in the SEC (what has been clearly the biggest name conference in recent history) will not look as good to recruits on the west coast and southwest as playing in the new pac 16 closer to home. Im still confident we can get recruits from around the southeast and in the SEC market areas, but losing that carrot of playing in such a dominant conference to dangle in front of recruits might be gone....I got my faith in CDD that he will find a way!
