Supposedly has been contacted by the search firm and is willing to listen. From what I understand he was in play somewhat with LSU before the Miles hire and his days in Jacksonville appear numbered.

a very respected guy from another board is touting this rumor. I will say that the guy who put this out there is not known for hogwash. By the way, I love people asking for a source on something like this, man, just have fun with it. Or would you rather talk about the Vandy game?

Now thats some interesting news... and would qualify as a "splash" in my book.

He could go head to head with Saban, Meyer, et al.

How do you know he could go head to head with Meyer and Saban? Because he comes from the NFL? I don't know....Would definitely qualify as a splash though.

What are the chances 'a new name emerges' when MH announces the head coach? Would it matter?

Just an assumption on my part about a guy that has been successful in the NFL. He actually has a comparable winning % to Gruden (53.3% versus 54.4%).

JDR has survived 6 seasons (2 playoff teams) as a Head Coach in the NFL. So, yes, he can go head to head with Meyer and Saban with X's and O's.

Huh....I am numb...I don't want to lose JDR here....If he's a Vol I'm cool with it I guess. :ermm:

I can tell you one thing, he is great at spotting talent.

He is a hard nosed coach. we need a guy that will put his foot up a guys :censored: when he does something wrong. Didn't he just bench their all-pro lb for "talking back"?
Fulmer was just too laxed in the end.

In my opinion, Del Rio's success has a lot to do with the current Falcons head coach. They sure don't look like the Jags of old this year.

In better news, Wiki says his middle name is Lebron...maybe this is all a smokescreen and King James will be our new coach.

I have a hard time not picturing coach dave and Pitt when we bring up NFL coaches. Pitt is ok this year, but he has had some pretty rough seasons there....i guess Carroll is the counter argument.
