It's an omen. After encouraging such strong investment in wind power, the Texas State Government is going to legalize psylocibin mushrooms.

For those that aren't aware, Amarillo is home to the Pantex Plant. This was my first thought when I saw the words mushroom cloud and Amarillo together.

The Pantex Plant is the primary United States nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility that aims to maintain the safety, security and reliability of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile. The facility is located on a 16,000 acre (65 km2) site 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Amarillo, in Carson County, Texas in the Panhandle of Texas.

We spent the night in Amarillo in May 1992 on out way to Alaska. When we woke up the next morning, I noticed a storm rolling up similar to the OP. I told the wife, let's get the hell outta here! Lol

That place is so flat, that storm is probably closer to El Paso than Amarillo. Haha
