I have talked to several people during and after last Saturdays game and they always bring up "well this guy has alot of fulmer in him on offense" or "he must have been watching film on johnny ball" and I responded with, have you ever seen a mule in the Kentucky derby? No. We are young and not very deep so the coaching staff has to use the KISS method on offense. We have talent but we ain't got that stud horse to run wide open on offense!! We will get those studs because I believe in the coaching can go get them and when they do that's when we will be racing in the derby full throttle!!!

This is just my opinion... What do you all think? I'll hang up and listen

I think I've seen the KISS reference way too many times on this board today and now we're going to have a whole thread dedicated to it?

Find an original thought to share!

I think that's one of Pat Summit's famous quotes, from her dad on winning, "You don't take mules to the Kentucky derby".

are we playing with mules? or thoroughbreds? will be interesting to see how some of our young players develop.

Mixture, some thoroughbred PONIES, and some mules....

i said the other day, this offense is not very good. when three of the four receivers are tight ends, your not going to have very many plays down field. its a great formation to run the ball but i dont think recruits are saying man cant wait to run the two or three te sets. not very exciting.

Don't think Fulmer would have gone for it on 4th and 6 or whatever it was early in the game. He would have put 3 pts on the board.

I think that Dooley is trying to run the offense that he believes his team is capable of running right now. A totally inexperienced offensive line with one freshman starter, two inexperienced running backs, a QB who has never played real college ball...you can't come out with the world's most complex and aggressive package for these guys.

From listening to Wes Rucker's practice report, he was talking about how after the UTM game Dooley felt very confident and tried to increase the complexity of the offense in practice. It was unsuccessful and he was forced to back down to simpler schemes.

I've said it many times on this board, and I will keep saying it. This team has a lot of FUTURE talent and will get a lot better as that talent matures (years, not weeks). Even further, the team will improve drastically as consistent recruiting and decreased attrition provides DEPTH. We learned this weekend that our first string can compete with the best of them, but that's not enough to be successful against a quality team. We will still surprise someone this year, but we lack the depth and experience to be consistently good right now.

In two years: Bray and Worley will be mature, the O-line will be Jrs and Seniors and will have quality backups, these freshmen receivers will not be freshmen. Oku and Neal will be legit backs. The future is bright.

I actually believe those three points could have been huge. It may have been a different dressing room still going in with the lead.

It would have been something like a 47 yard field goal on a soaking wet field. It's not like Dooley passed up a sure three there.
