The figurative "air" in the men's basketball program is leaking profusely.

What looked to be a promising "reloading" year with and even more promising recruiting class coming in next year, Kennedy is losing his players mentally and literally now.

I fear the start of conference play.

Tennessee won't either. Only difference is I look forward to conference play because of Stokes

So I suppose both programs I support will be adorning NIT t-shirts at season's end. That's just fan-freaking-tastic!

What a waste of a year for these seniors. I've enjoyed all of them sans Dash Harris. The kid is terrible.

Had Harris and Hopson stayed this would have been a definite tourney team. Stokes will instantly be the best player on our team(talent wise) as soon as he steps foot on court. It may take awhile for him to produce like it though

I don't blame Scottie leaving. He had to take a chance. His stock was not going to inflate any further by staying IMO.

Like you, I too am in "sit and wait" mode. J-Mike will be the best we have........next year.

You know who is getting a kick out of all this? Billy Clyde.

I don't blame Harris for leaving, but Hopson's stock was 2nd round to undrafted from everything I read. It couldn't have gotten any worse this year.

Sure it could. New coach, new scheme, totally different dynamics in the way the program is run. Let alone the the concept of "gelling as a team". One hiccup on or off the court, or even in practice can create a downward spiral within the mindset of the team. It takes a strong will to maintain discipline when everything around you is spiraling towards negativity. I dont know Hopson personally, but I would say he might not have been equipped with what it would take to rise above and be a leader. In that same breath, I'd be hard pressed to name any college player that is capable of doing so without being helped along by a peer or coach they have an established relationship with.

I think I read the line for Baylor on Monday set at -12.

We might not keep it within 20 of them.

At this point, I'd welcome ANY post season but Madison Square Garden is a really nice place to watch a basketball game :p
