The fact that Kentucky once held the belt pretty much eliminates it from serious consideration for my part.

Meh coaches and AP had them ranked 7th. It wasn't until decades later Sagrin declared them champs through a computer program he developed. Their only loss that year was to us and we also only lost one game that year.
