"A lot of talent, but they are a bad team."

Here is how I look at this. Everyone was expecting this team to start the season looking like they did in the bowl game. Obviously, that hasn't happened. In fact it has been the opposite. The o line has looked suspect and we've had major injuries to key players. Even with the vanilla offense, if players execute we win these first three games easily. The positive here is in a year where there has been more major upsets to start the season than any in history, we are 3-0. If we had played well and had narrow victories I would be very concerned. Through 3 games we've only seen maybe 3 total quarters of good football played. Things can only get better. How soon that happens will be the difference between a one loss team and a 4 loss team.

If you are playing vanilla three games into the season to avoid showing your hand and planning on alternate uniforms to pump things up, well, that's a problem. Have to agree with you - minor league minds trying to coach in the big leagues. Butch does have some good attributes that could work out IFF he surrounds himself with competent coordinators and assistants and lets them run with the ball; still he'd just be an administrator surrounded by competent staff - never a Saban. And good talent tends to leave when there's no upward mobility, and their talent is propping things up.

I don't see that we have been vanilla. Regardless of what we run, we are not executing and have put the ball on the ground too much. This team totally lacks discipline.
