For the first time since 1998 the Vols have won 8 games in a row from the end of 2015 through week 2 of 2016 against VT. This is the 3rd longest winning streak currently in the nation and the second longest for a power 5 team. (Bama has the longest)

Results:
@UK 52-21
SC 27-24
UNT 24-0
@Miz 19-8
Van 52-28
NW 45-8 (bowl game) (ranked)
App 20-13
VT 45-24

Score breakdown for the streak:
UT 284 Others 126
Average UT 35.5 Others 15.75
Avg margin of victory 19.75 (3 scores a game)

2016 breakdown through 2 games:
UT 65 Others 37
Average UT 32.5 Others 18.5
Avg margin of victory 14 (2 scores per game)

During the streak:
5 of the wins were by 3 scores or more. 1 victory by 2 scores and the other 2 were within 1 score.The Vols have only faced 1 ranked opponent during the 8 game streak. 2 of the 8 wins came on the road and 2 more at neutral sites leaving 4 consecutive wins in Neyland Stadium.

With the Ohio Bobcats coming in next week this streak should extend to 9 in a row. To reach double digits the Vols must end the losing streak against the Gators on Sept 24, 2016.

4 week gauntlet upcoming of UF, @UGA, @A&M, Bama. All match ups for the Vols should be against ranked teams.

Side note:
Last double digit loss for the Vols occurred Oct 25 2014 against Bama in Knoxville 34-20.

Those are the numbers of a rising and top level football team. Regardless of deficiencies the Vols are playing some of the best and most consistent football in the country.

Go Vols!

Good stuff. Appreciate the info. Quick question.....What's the combined win % of those 8 teams?

That's a lot of work but for this year it is 50% with the only losses for App (1-1) and VT (1-1) coming at the hands of the Vols.
