At one time, Tennessee was known as Linebacker U. Naumoff was one of the ones who was at the forefront of that designation. He was an All-American and went on to be an All-Pro for the Detroit Lions. He once played in 142 consecutive games for the Lions and missed only two games in 12 years.. He was a Great One!

RIP VFL!

What a Vol football player, Naumoff and Jack Reynolds were part of the reason they started calling UT linebacker U
It's a sad day when we lose a Vol for life like Paul Naumoff , one of the truly great ones!
God bless his family and loved ones, he will be missed by many.

Growing up in Farragut, Naumoff was a absolute legend. He has a great family that will miss him dearly. They are in my prayers.

Oh man Naumoff was so awesome, I remember when he was drafted by the Lions, he had a great career. He also saved me from Kiner's wrath at UT sports camp one summer, told Kiner he was going to kick his a$$ if he didn't leave me alone. That was pretty awesome. RIP Paul, you were one of the greats for sure.

Sorry to hear about Paul...knew him when we were both at U.T. He, Hacksaw, and Kiner were monsters who absolutely took no prisoners...loved to watch them tear it up on Saturdays in Neyland! Oh, how could I forget Emanuel...talking about playing defense like it was supposed to be played...four of the absolute best ever to wear our beloved orange!

Both Naumoff and Lucci were underrated as pros. Unfortunately for Lucci, he played at the same time as Nitschke at Green Bay and Butkus at Chicago who defined middle linebacker play in those days. Nitschke was on the World Champions most years and Butkus was a beast for the Monsters of the Midway in the Chicago media market.
