It appears that VIA has indeed left us. We have said a few kind words, but I thought it appropriate to share our thoughts about his departure in an official thread. Thanks to Vader and OWB for the inspiration for the idea.

I remember the time I was wrong about something, and VIA corrected me. I am going to miss that.

I remember the time he told me he knew more about every sport than me.

VIA you will be missed like Ike misses Tina.
You could always make people feel good about their knowledge of football. I will truly miss you telling me I do not contribute anything of substance to the board. I am a better poster because of you. I BET you will be back. What are my odds on that by the way? O well I will pour a Blue Moon on the ground in your memory. STAT MAN VN weeps.

I almost forgot about the time I made fun of him for always bringing up his blog in posts. He did not like that and we had a PM war. I feel like we bonded and became better for it.

I remember one of the few times I was being sarcastic and he thought I was being serious. Made we had some good times.

Ashes to Ashes , Dust to Dust, if he didn't think he was so much better than everyone, he'd still be here with us.

I'll never forget the last time I saw him. He was all, "Betcha $50 I can wrestle a 'gator." And I was all, "You're on!"

Sounds like Uncle Rico, "how much you wanna bet I could throw this football over that mountain?"

Do you think VIA was really the same way in person?

I never personally got called out from VIA, but holy crap I was scared to death it would happen. I was more afraid of VIA than I am hat. I'll miss VIA, he truly did know more about football than most on this board, and he didn't hesitate to let us know that. However, there were occasions he admitted he wasn't the sharpest. He truly listened to the advice given to him in the golf thread. I had forgotten his New Leaf thread. I'm going to try and find it.

I know more about football than you. That should have been his signature.

He knew his stuff and he could crank out the stats.

He really did know more about football than most. He'll be missed.

Ole VIA. We had our scraps. Well one that I remember. I think we both stepped away respecting each other more. He knew, or better yet, knows his football stats.
