_Vols in NC...get out and vote!!! Need your help. MAY 8

So, he had to die for rights that should have granted to his race upon birth and you seem to think that it was just?

What you call a sacrifice I call a tragedy.

he just proved the opposition's point without even knowing it

Wow, and you people are the future????

Was not talking about his murder, he sacrificed long before being killed, he was arrested a number of times, almost went bankrupt, beaten ext. But he sacrificed for what he believed in.

I don't know the statistics, but if procreating with a first cousin produces a substantially higher risk of genetic disorder for your children, do you still believe it should be legal?

Smoking and drinking while pregnant also results in higher risk of genentic disorders and/or birth defects. Where is the moral outrage over this issue?

You?

Future?

should he have been required to sacrifice all that for equal rights? Do you believe it was a fight that had to be fought?

Again, how is it not a tragedy that he had to suffer all of these things in order for the government to finally protect his rights?

Here again, you use the term "sacrifice" but these are all consequences of the movement that were completely unnecessary. It never should have come to that point, not for issues such as: voting rights, desegregation, equality......

As far as "...you people are the future????", I'm probably older than you. Too old to be considered part of the "future" anyway.

Justin how many times have u accidentally taken a sip from your spit cup?

wait, why is that being thrown out? Sometimes you get confused and just grab the wrong bottle. Happens to the best of us. I actually get more pissed when I spit into my coffee

No he should not have, slavery, the Jim Crow laws all of that was an abomination but it wasn't going to change until someone stood up and started the movement.

Most all rights are won through struggle, womens right to vote is another example. I respect people that stand up for what they believe in and do something about it even if I disagree in their idea.

Then I apologize.

Being liberal at 20 is normal
Liberal at 40 is stupid.....

how do you justify this with your views that are specifically causing people to struggle? Would you have fought against what MLK wanted just so he could earn it the hard way? Why force people to go so far as losing their life when it's unnecessary?

Then I apologize.

being against freedom at any age is....

I would agree with the meaning behind that statement; the reason they are protected through struggle, though, is because their are so many dumbasses who push for bigoted legislation in the first place and then defend their "right to denigrate the rights of others" by asserting that those who don't like it can leave. If you do not see that mentality as completely ****ed up, then there is really no use continuing this conversation.

I'll mention this again. There were two counties/municipalities in WNC that were voting on some type of alcohol sales issue in areas that had previously been dry. The total votes, as well as the percentages of "for" votes (both alcohol and Amendment One) fell on the same lines, passing by a range 56% to 61%, generally.

So, it would appear that morals "for the good of the community":

1-Take a back seat to personal vices
2-Take a back seat to economic opportunities

And it would also appear that morals "for the good of the community":

1-Take precedence over the rights of a select group of individuals that have no tangible
effect over the opposition
