Maybe this should be the smack in the face for us to fully support the 9 game SEC schedule and only scheduling Power 5 schools going forward. There’s no need to waste $1M on teams like GASt when it doesn’t truly help your team. Look what Barnes has done with the basketball team. We consistently have one of the toughest out of conference schedules every year. We need to stop shelling out money to smaller schools because it’s a lose-lose situation. I would rather us schedule home-and-home games with nothing but Power 5 schools. At least when we lose to those teams we can save the money. That $1M could have gone to something better, but instead we gave our lunch money a bully and also offered to beat ourselves up in the process so they didn’t have to do the work.

If we had played a P5 team yesterday and gotten embarrassed, we'd be asking why we didn't schedule a warm up.

The opponent wasn't the issue yesterday.

I’m a total believer in this. It’s lose-lose.

Better to open to and prepare fora real opponent... and follow that with a weaker P5. There’s nothing gained playing FCS.

We need to be buying out strong OOC games until the 20 year cancer is found, and removed. There is nothing gained from testing a patient on life support.

It usually helps the FCS school take care of their athletic budget for the year. I think it’s great for big programs to do this. Let them try to have their day like GA STATE did. The money isn’t the issue, 9.9/10 times ga state gets man handled and it’s the least we can do to pay them. The issue is how much our entire team and coaching staff didn’t seem to care they were getting embarrassed in what is a make or break year for a dying program.
