I know this was towards the end of practice but do you guys notice the O-Line focusing on pass protection? do you think this is a point of emphasis for Hiestand? What programs has he coached at before? are these rushing offenses or primarily pass?

Judging by the intensity they were displaying in those drills, they were wasting their time. Going through the motions IMO. Sad, very sad!

I was thinking the same thing, the "defenders" where just fing lollygagging.... there was no motivation there!

The drill is purposed to help with hand placement and explosive motion from the arms with a solid base....the "defenders" are'nt supposed to be rushing like crazy.....

Still a half speed drill? We don't play at half speed (watch the Floriduh replay) so why practice half speed? How can you prepare for the UF's, UA, UGA, and the LSU of this league, with this kind of intensity in any drill? Doesn't make much sense.

If all of our other drills are given this lack of intensity, heart, and physicality, no wonder we didn't handle the "buzz-saw" very well last week out of the gate.

If Dooley is happy with "this" effort, I would hate to see how bad Tuesday's practice must have been. This effort won't beat the big boys of the SEC. I wonder what Muschamp's, Spurrier's, Miles', and Saban's drills look like? I'd be shocked, and quite frankly disappointed, to watch any of those teams practice, and see this kind of effort, even in warm ups. Just sayin'.

Oh, and let me add, I'm disappointed to see it at a UT practice.

If you're not pushing your teammates in practice, you're not helping them get better. Maybe this explains the running game around here lately!

We rank 11th in the SEC in drill intensity. Did Jimmy tell Dooley yet? Gotta close the gap.

You play like you practice. -9 rushing yards. Tyler was "hit 6000 times." Coincidence?

This team is hanging on by a thread and you want them to go out everyday and beat themselves up... For what? So you can thump your chest and say "at least they practice hard"

Joe Vols has provided some humor for the board today.

Bless you sir.

Play a sport before you comment. Have you coached your child in a sport or do you plan to in the future? I would love to see the intensity those little kids bring due to the demands their great coach Joe Vols would put on them.

Go Hard or Go Home huh Joe?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If they practiced like this the entire time, worry. This is one drill taking place during Dooley's post practice interview. Plenty of other things to worry about.

If the drill is aimed at strengthening technique then there's no need for them to be going balls to the wall. Getting the technique down is the most important thing. Good grief.

I was about to come on here and say I was proud that the Oline as a group was staying and working overtime on some technical drills after practice....then I see Joe shmo on here ripping them for going half speed during an AFTER PRACTICE drill.

DUDE they are staying late obviously trying to work extra hard to understand and work on something from that day in practice...I am sure if their was videos of the Dline going against the Oline during the actual practice period it looks nothing like this...jeez.
