Sorry if someone else posted this, but I think we all need to take a few minutes and remember the people who were lost 6 years ago today. It was one of the most tragic events this great nation has seen, and we will never forget what happened that day.

its amazing how little all of this has been talked about. I can't say its a bad thing that America has moved on but we should still remember it.

I think it's okay to remember it.

But when News stations use it for an all day cheese festival, it gets to be a bit much.

Agreed. I don't buy into the "Remember 9-11" stuff anymore. No one should forget it, but I know it happened and it doesn't need to be pounded into my head. I still remember where I was when I first heard about it. I was traveling between art class and intro to physical sciences when someone from the AV classroom went running through the halls at Sherrard telling everyone about it. I did a series of drawings remembering it, but nothing since. Huge tragedy.

It is hard to believe it was 6 years ago...that was my first year teaching and I still usually have a few students and teachers e-mail me on the day just to touch base...

Yesterday, we didn't make a big deal out of it in my classes. I agree that too much media hype is annoying and grandstanding. Instead, we did a "good deed" activity where my students wrote thank you notes or just happy notes to teachers and staff who they felt deserved a pick me up for the day. It was a nice way to feel good on the anniversary of so many bad memories.

Speaking of 911,how many of you believe in our goverment and what they have denied?I guess I have been behind the curtains and never paid much attention to the attacks untill the anniversary of 911 this year.I've been watching videos and looking at different sites on the so called conspiracy theory.I would like to hear how some of the Volnation feel about this.If you don't give a crap,then don't post.I'm just shocked at some of the things I've been reading.

All the stuff you're reading has been debunked many, many times but they keep saying it. The same people who believe in the gov't conspiracy for 9/11 also claim this is the most incompetent gov't in history. So incompetent that they flew 2 planes into the WTC, fired a missile at the Pentagon and just happened to keep the thousands of people involved silent? Bush has trouble keeping 1-on-1 conversations in the Oval Office quiet for very long.

I don't buy it. Like pj said, so many people would have had to be involved how would it not of leaked out? It's just not possible, and frankly I think it's crap to think our gov't would have done this. It would make no sense at all.

Why is it so hard to believe that terrorists planned the attack and weren't caught? I saw an interesting news piece a few nights ago about the "mysterious plane" over the white house during the attacks that the conspiracy theorists claim was the central command coordinating the attacks. From the broadcast, I fully believe that it was a government plane over washington conducting operations...the military claims it had no planes in the air - but they are obviously lying to protect the plane's identity. It looked just like the government's purported "doomsday" plane..which was surely put in the air around washington as a just in case. But, because the military/government can't admit it ... the conspiracy theorists are convinced it was how we coordinated that attacks! Of course..I think that the the 911 conspiracy theorists have about as much to lean on as global warming "debunkers" ..but that is a whole other story.
