God bless everyone in our military, and with a special exception to those who served in combat. You are the real heroes and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I would like to say there is a new movement of people mocking the "never forget" meme if you will. Those people are ignorant. You may get a laugh because you think it's an overused or dumb patriotic phrase that rednecks say.. It's not. Go stand on the other end of people firing actual ammunition (not Call of Duty on xbox) at you and then write back to us about how stupid people are for saying that phrase.

GBO and more importantly God bless our armed forces and emergency personnel and all who lost their lives that day.

One of the most memorable sports experiences of my life took place in Knoxville several weeks later when WE hosted LSU. Being at O'Charley's and Hannah's on the Strip where people were standing on tables chanting USA!USA! the night before the game and then singing Rocky Top over and over is something that I will never forget. No politics, just Americans together, it was amazing. I was a 19 year old kid going to his first UT SEC game and the raw emotion of everything that I was experiencing, coupled with the horrible events from 2 weeks earlier was overwhelming. The stadium that Saturday night was unforgettable, with the great fly over and showing of patriotism by the fans, then Kelley Washington going for 256 yards and the Vols getting a great victory over Saban's LSU team. After being so sad and devastated for several weeks, with so many questions that were unanswered, the UT students, campus and Neyland Stadium were the perfect example of what we stand for and live for. It allowed me to think that everything was going to move forward and we could live life again. Sorry to be long winded, but I remember that weekend like it was yesterday. It was a great American/Volunteer display. I was hooked and transferred several semesters later. I've had a lot of great, bad and memorable experiences in Neyland Stadium, but nothing touches that weekend.

Thank you to every man and woman who is serving and has served defending our country. I am truly grateful.

I remember exactly where I was, and eactly what I was doing. I was putting the subfloor down in a house. we was taking a break, and really didn't understand what was going on. we just had the radio. the only place with a TV that was close by was McDonalds. we headed there and watched a nightmare.

Never forget, but we may vote to decide if we'll now support Al Qaeda......(shaking head)..... Not sure which hurts worse what happened 9/11 and the feeling watching that first building fall, or what has happened to my country since. :frown:

Let us never forget. I know most of us go about our daily lives and don't think about it but today is a perfect chance to simply walk up to a military veteran, police officer, fire fighter, EMT,etc. and give them thanks for their service. I can tell you from experience it will make their day.

Never, ever forget.

My father-in-law went to be with the Lord on this day two years after the event. He was a POW in WW II in Germany and was a man that endured great hardship, yet loved his country and everybody around him. This day has a very special meaning for us. Thank God we live in the USA and that guys like Pap gave their all for us.

I worked in the WTC for a short period of time and on Sept 11th their were a lot of people in those buildings that I had worked with or knew. My brother-in-law was working in the Pentagon that day.
