85 football / 06 basketball comparisons

Anybody see this article from Inside Tennessee comparing the '85 football season to the '06 basketball season? Pretty cool stuff. It gave me goose bumps. I got to see the Alabama game in Birmingham that year with the Dale Jones bat-down interception and the Vandy game in Knoxville when UT won 30-0 to clinch the SEC championship and a Sugar Bowl berth. As a 12-year-old then, I was hooked for life. I'm hoping for similar memories from this basketball team.

good stuff...John Pennington on Govols posted in his blog a reference to this as well....and now that i've thought about it, it definitely applies here....hopefully we'll be sitting here in 10 years having had a decade of similar bball success as we've had in football....

That is good comparison. I think both teams have some quality blue collar workers who have made the difference in each teams success.
