How I’m the world do we only score 8 points in the 2nd quarter. We are a major D-1 program and should be able to muster more than 8 points in a quarter. When will this madness end?

I watched Miami and #2 Louisville. Louisville missed many bunny shots as well. Its just part of the womans game i guess.

In this case the madness ended the very next quarter when we scored 18. Yes, Lordy our standards have nosedived, but reality is for us to have just one quarter of offensive shame is a vast improvement.

Also important to note Missouri only had 10 pts in that same second quarter so we were able to keep it close.

It could have been worse as in 24 total points scored..... you know like NC State men ranked 23 in the polls at that time scored against VA Tech.

I agree with you on against the top team scoring 8 will not cut it. Note with this Tenn team it`s all about the matchup we match up pretty well vs Mizzou. But when we play a team with size in the paint and the players are athletic we have problems. The problem i see going forward is after C. Green there is not post. I`m glad to see Collins step up on the offensive today. But asking her to guard a post player with skills on the low block is and will be a tall order. Don`t get me wrong she battled hard against Porter and Smith but was over matched. And i`m sure we all have seen KK play, Right now i think she is a liability at the 5.

The more they win the more likely Holly is the coach next year. I love the VOLS but I hope they lose every game. Just the way I feel.

Did you also notice that the LVs held Mizzou to only 10 pts in the 2nd quarter and 3 of those came on the bad foul from Massengill at the very end of the quarter.

Also, did you notice that in the quarter, the LVs were playing without Meme, Zaay, and Cheridene. The necessary goal was not to lose contact in that period and they did the job on the defensive end. You eat the donut not the hole....

I think every team in the SEC has had a quarter when they scored less than ten points this season that includes Miss St. It happens the key is to prevent the other team from scoring and we did. No doubt we won this game with defense our offense didn't get it done the way it should, but we prevented their offense from scoring also and that wins a game when you offense doesn't have it. i was proud to finally see this team produce a defensive effort that was Tennessee like from past seasons.

I have many memories of listening to PHS speak of freshmen needing to become sophomores by January and especially by March.

I have observed in person and on television seeing freshmen, both LVs and other teams, thinking rather responding while on the Court

Also in post season interviews I remember freshmen, to be sophomores stating 1) the need to get stronger by next year 2) the trials of a long season with nagging physical issues 3) the need to improve on defense and 4) the need to slow down and learn to take what the defense will give you.

yeah, our standards have really fallen. Everyone keeps saying "We won," implying we should just be happy. Meanwhile, we beat a team with one HS AA by 2 with our squad of 6 HS AA. It's pitiful.
