8 for 17 seals the deal..

That is the main stat of the night. Tennessee's basketball team is officially playing at a premier level. There's a few things that need to be tied up, but free throws in the main one.

Yep. And, we should have called timeout and given Lofton the ball. That's twice they have lucked past us. I hate Ohio State, and I hope we destroy them in Knoxville next year.

Ohio would have sold out to keep the ball from Lofton.

But we went through a stretch, when Oden and Hunter were both on the bench with 4 fouls, where we gave up like 12 offensive rebounds in a row. That was brutal.

If this team (OSU) manages to catch everyone on a bad game on their way to a national title I may go insane.

With Oden gone, (hopefully) I would be surprised if we didn't win that game.

Practice, practice, practice......actually there is a FT coaching GURU......some nerdy looking guy that never played BB that teaches the art and goes to different teams and has amazingly good sucess.

Next year we will be better in this area.

It's the reason we lost the first time we played OSU and it killed us the second time we played them.

First time we played them: 5-11 from the line

Tonight: 8-17 from the line.

For the season we were the worse team in the SEC in free throws. 65.7%

I remember sitting at half time thinking..this feels like this year's UT-Florida Football game.....we're going to lose this game...but boy oh boy...what a game....wish we could have pulled it off.....GO VOLS

I am as heartbroken as anybody, and it hurts more coming from a team that I just plain don't like, but I'd rather be heartbroken in March than be out of the tournament and looking for a coach like two years ago. We'd better get used to this feeling. If you don't win the tournament, you're going to be heartbroken at some point. I think it's great to be involved in the tournament on what I hope is now an annual basis. We have been involved in some great tournament games the last two years. Our players will get better this offseason and come back as a stronger team next year.

The missed foul shots cost them the game. Two times now we have lost to Ohio State with less than a minute to go. Tennessee's field goal shooting in the second half was not very sharp. I knew with the way they played so good in the first half, that they would not be able to keep up that intensity in the second half, and I was right. Too many times this season I have seen the same thing. Something has to be done about their poor free throw shooting. 8 of 17 is horrible. They would have won the game with those 9 points they didn't get. Tennessee used to be very consistent as a team on their free throws, shooting around 80%, and this as late as last year. Now it is always make one, miss the other, other than Lofton making 8 of 9 at the end I believe against Virginia. Tennessee used to win alot of games at the foul line so to speak. What a bummer. :shakehead:

I still don't understand Lofton not getting to the line once.. He's got to draw contact more often when he penetrates. Conley did it all night long...
