7-5 should not be extra year for Dooley.

Why is fans making a big deal about going 7-5 ? What have we accomplished beating NC state and cupcakes? If we finish 4-0 we would have beaten a 4-4 mid major Troy,4-4 Missouri,4-4 Vandy and a terrible 1-8 UK.

I think that 7-5 could have saved his job under certain circumstances. However, I think his record against quality teams (Top 25) and the SEC will assure that he won't be back. I'll be very surprised if he is back next year.

I think that 6-6 will get him another year. If Hart was going to axe him, seems we would have made the move on Monday. That way, we could have got the cream of the crop from the new blood. He didn't pull the trigger, so I am afraid that means we are facing another 13 months of Dools.

I feel that he has more class than Mike Hamilton.

With profits and ticket sales dropping like they have, I don't see how the AD can survive financially without a new coach. Maybe I just haven't seen all of the evidence, but this seems like a situation where you spend $5-$9 million now to save tens of millions in lost revenue later.

still would be the most wins since 2007. I'm just saying. With so many changes, I don't care who the coach is as long as we win. Would prefer somebody from the UT coaching tree

Most fans "is" not making a big deal about the prospects of going 7-5.

I don't think he will axe him until he has an agreement with the new coach. At least not in public. Dooley could very well already know he has been fired. Who knows what has went on behind closed doors. I would also throw out(I have said it before), what if Hart stays quiet until Feb 16th? Everyone is up in arms thinking Dooley is back for 2013. Then Hart calls the presser and announces Dooley is fired and replaced with(whoever). Hart just saved UT 1 million dollars. A bit shady to the recruits, but I could see it playing out that way.

To me it confirms what should be obvious to all. If Gruden was a real possibility, he's available now. Why wait, unless Gruden is definitely not a possibility and Hart has to wait for his next coach to finish the year with his current team.

So to save a million, Hart would try to hire a coach after NSD (horrible timing and puts us in a worse position to get a better coach) and he would throw away a year of recruiting with uncertainty surrounding the program. I would hope he would announce his resignation the same day if he's that dumb.

The only places this BS is really being stirred up is here on VN because all the kids here love to stir the crap.

In the news media because they get PAID to stir up crap and keep people watching or listening to their useless crap.

99% of the real Tennessee fans aren't saying anything because they're smart and know that nothing they say will have anything to do with whatever AD Hart decides to do.

AD Hart and the BIG $$$ boosters/businessmen will look over everything including next seasons projected profits and who can they really hire to come to Tennessee that could do any better next season.

If they can't get a huge HOMERUN hire and we're still in projected profit then CDD and staff will probably be here next season.

All the smart people know that to fire CDD and get the wrong coach could set Tennessee back bad enough that we might not become a SEC powerhouse again for 10 to 30 years if ever again.

It's simply NOT easy to get coaches to come to Tennessee as much as we all hate to admit that.

VFL...GBO!!!

Unless that coach was Gruden or a coach currently not coaching. Sure it would help with recruiting to announce it sooner. Maybe Gruden/other coach is not ready for it to be announced. Just another thought I tossed out there. Saving 1 million dollars would not hurt our current situation.
