Yeah, we could go 7-5, go to Shreveport or Memphis or Nashville, and still have nothing to look forward to next year... and have a team that will be lucky to win 8 next year. Or, we can go 5-7, get a new coach in here, clean out the program, and unite the fanbase.

I don't believe we get by UK, Vandy, or the Cocks without losing, therefore 7-5 is just too unrealistic. I think at .500 Phil's gone.

I guess my thinking is, what if he pulls another November surprise and winds up beating MSU, USC, WY, Vandy, and KY... will that give you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside and tell you that Fulmer has gotten things back on track?

That would be surprising, but we could win out and I still want Fulmer gone.

Hamilton made a strong statement, but you never know. Say what you want, seeing Saban grimace after a loss to us would make a lot of people happy enough to want to "stay the course" and give Ole Phil another shot. Not me, though. At 7-5 I think he's gone.

Sadly, you are right.

A lot of this is gonna have to do with ticket sales. You know the 'It's all about the money' saying rings true in most cases. Look at basketball. You would be lucky to even land a ticket right now.

There is a difference between 7-5 and 5-7. It gives us an extra month of practice, a bit of pocket change, a short but continuing bowl streak, and the avoidance of hearing about "two losing seasons in 4 years." The Liberty Bowl sucks, but it doesn't suck as bad as no bowl.

At this point, I don't think it matters towards the coaching situation, either. I believe Phil is just as gone at 7-5 as he is at 5-7.

You mean a 3 year bowl streak is worth boasting about?

No bowl this year boys & girls.
Depends on the next two weeks. You know that, quit wishful thinking:). Phil wins those two games and he wins out, you know that too. I share in the notion that we probably lose both. But win them and that stupid contract is going to reward phil for this year. Maybe they weren't idiots afterall. Maybe they knew exactly what they were doing. It sounds crazy but it could happen. Depressing isn't it. I've puked twice thinking of that scenario.

Forget a bowl....best case scenario,we don't go to a bowl and Phil is booted out the door, crumbs and all.
