Saying that CLK is going to have to fire CEO over something. Has anyone heard this? Chuck Oliver said he talked to someone as close to the football program as it gets and that CEO will be let go before spring pratice.

There was a rumor last week that a coach was going to have to be let go before Spring Practice. . .

If you're listening to Buck Belue & John Kincaide then you can rest assured they have NO idea what they're talking about...

What could he have done, and why wait so long if something has already happened?

Would it not have leaked?

I was listening when they were talking about it. They were being very vague and saying that since it was so potentially damaging, it was something that they weren't going to put on the air until they had it better sourced.

They were working hard to take the high road and act like journalists . . . as they teased the story about 47 times.

It seems impossible that the guys here on Atlanta radio would be in the know about this without any rumors flying around the Vol message boards.

So, Oliver says it came from someone "as close to the program as it gets" but they want it better sourced. How professional.

That's what I don't understand about this or the rumor from a few days ago about an assistant being released before Spring ball. Why would they keep them around until Spring practice started? What purpose would it serve?

Maybe they confused Peterson and Orgeron. I mean, they are practically the same guy...

It was definitely a rather pathetic display of journalism.

This was addressed by Hubbs last week, he said there was nothing to it.

I also saw somewhere they were talking about this again today saying their "source" was backing off the rumor due to potential lawsuits

One would think.

Some guy on sports radio in Florida today was very vague about UT having some recruiting violations that UF is trying to dig into -- saying that UT may have arranged for a home for the guardians of one of the recruits they signed out of Florida this year -- but wouldn't say the kid's name or give any specifics, yet said it was coming from a, wait for it --- "very reliable source." Obviously, it was a reference to Richardson.

All the negative rumors and stories about the coaching staff are beginning to get a little old.
