5 mil isnt best in the nation - not sure where that info came from. Believe LSU, Clemson, Bama all had greater pools in 2017, likely to have similar figures in 2018 as well.

The low buyout almost looks like we are renting him. If he has a great year 1 or year 2, we will definitely have to revisit the buyout area of the contract.

His salary is only 5th in the SEC and will likely be 6th after Smart gets a bump this year. I think starting him out at 6 is appropriate.

According to a lot of so called experts, pay should reflect performance. So does this mean that we are expecting to be the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC?

My take...no, we expect to be the best. But should not start out by paying him that amount.
