Who would you rather have: the 5th string starter in Bennett or the 5th year Senior in JG who still can’t read a defense or get the ball out of his hand before getting sack fumbled?

Also, ask yourself this question: how is JG still this teams QB?

I don’t blame JG. He is doing the best he can, and he is a tough cookie. And he is your starter for 2021. Accept it.

JP isn’t going to recruit or develop anyone else. It is what it is. And if I were paid $90k a week with no accountability, I’m not sure I’d bust my butt to find another QB either.

It is what it is.

If JG is the starter next year we will lose every quarterback we have due to transferring.

I’m sorry, but you’re delusional if you can’t “blame” JG at this point. We have the talent everywhere other than QB. I’m so tired of the excuses for this loser. It’s on him. Period.

I don’t blame JG the same way I don’t blame a Yugo for being a crap car.

I blame JP for his stubborn reliance on a QB who is obviously not up to the job.

I've tried to support JG but his mental toughness was completely non-existent in the second half. Just don't think I can roll with him anymore.

Even when he did have time to throw, he once again made bad throws at critical times. After the first two TO's he needed to lock in make some plays. Instead, he just looked scared on the sidelines and it bled onto the field when offense was up. No fire, no moxie, just looked and played morbidly defeated.

Mental toughness is just not something that can be coached or taught and I think it was a lot to do with his inconsistencies in his entire Vol career.

Of course, as a couch coach I don't know what it's like under JG's kind of pressure but in my experience watching the great ball players, mental toughness is something the great ones just have inherently. JG aint it.

Hard question. I don’t want Bennett either. He just has a great team around him.

At some point, Pruitt is going to have to be accountable for why JG is the “best option” to win. That’s a failure of his staffs ability to recruit JGs replacement or coach up his replacement. JG is a boat anchor around this program until he is remanded to holding a clipboard on the sideline.

Hey I’m with you; however for some reason it’s the coach that keeps playing him.

For me it’s more on the coach than anyone else....even JG. We know what JG is.....so does the coach.

Here's my deal. The same people, and I was as well, giving JG credit in the first half, are tge ones blaming the line in the 2nd. So did JG really not play good the 1st, and the line was what helped him? He did good the 1st half, but completely fell apart the 2nd. You can't give him all the praise for ine half, and not hold him accountable the 2nd. Was tge line bad, yes, but so was he.

Fair point.

Don’t get me wrong though. The QB position is and has been seriously hurting Tennessee.....and is main the reason (on the field) Tennessee sucks....when they suck.....like yesterday.
I just can’t believe JG is still our starting QB in Pruitt’s 3rd year. It simply amazes me he is still our best option.

I’ll be honest, from what “I” saw last year I thought he was the best option to try and manage.......given who Tennessee had left on their schedule.....and try to let “the team” beat the other team and hopefully not let your own QB beat you......mid last year...and not this year.

Now I may have been dead wrong, when considering this season. Tennessee was playing “far” weaker opponents and they could have been getting someone else ready for this year at the same time.

I don’t think I could be convinced that JG is the best option Tennessee currently has......for any situation.

I’m with you.....I’m like seriously dumbfounded as to why he is out there......seemingly like, no matter what happens.
