I haven't seen any comments on the tight spiral that Dobbs threw on the last play. That was a thing of beauty. He let it go from the 51 yard line and it was caught in the middle of the end zone. I'd say he has a big arm.

And Jennings was high in the air. It was easily a 60 yard throw

I think the past couple of games Dobbs has shown his improvement as a passer. Drops count against him and we've had a few but the ball for the most part has been right where it needs to be. That Hail Mary was a beauty

I'm still a critic - and I'd love to answer:

I love Dobbs as our QB - he's at the ceiling in terms of how he represents the school, his intelligence, and I think he has a brilliant grasp on how best to be a dual-threat QB. We see dual threats all the time who settle too much as a runner or passer - Dobbs nails a great balance.

But I do think he still shows inconsistency with his accuracy - that was very much a part of the '5 drop first half by tennessee vs Florida'. His accuracy was super spotty. In the second half, he turned it into overdrive and almost looked like Chad Kelly.

I'm not gonna hate on Dobbs anymore - he's now done all we can ask in beating Florida & Georgia... but if he could hit that next gear in accuracy, he'd be a heisman candidate.

Dont forget, Butch calling that play instead of going for the field goal like I know a lot people were thinking was what we should have done..

But he needs to bring some "balls" with him...

Lol...it is comical at this point how much the Negavols are trying to cling to their false naratives about Butch and this team.

Beat Bama and he becomes legend.

he was throwing a prayer to an area. not leading a receiver on a post or anything like that. kind of like a lag putt. pump the brakes on his passing skills

I would at yelled at him for going for a a 60 yard FG with a kicker whos long is more than 10 yards less than that.

Still has a higher probability of happening then a hail mary pass..he has the leg strength amd can make them in practice.

Technically the hail mary was the "gutsy" call.. Thats my point

I'm sorry..but in the FL game he was hitting receivers in the chest and they were flat dropping them...that's on the receivers (they were tight). He can't throw and catch them both. He's shown plenty of improvement in his throw game. In college if your receivers are getting two hands on the ball and still dropping them...that's on the receivers! I'll tell you and any other Dobbs critic this...without Dobbs..no way we're 5-0 right now! It's time to support this kid..he's special. It's funny how opposing coaches can see this..but many of our fans can't! Florida's coach went on record saying he's so glad they won't have to face him again!

After watching Clemson and Louisville last night. And all the love for Watson. He is just as inconsistent as everyone points out about Dobbs. I saw several suspect throws last night and bad decisions throwing down field. Of course Jackson is amazing. But Dobbs has a heart the size of Rocky Top Nation itself. And he may very well be the best all around quarterback Tennessee has ever had. Yeah I know Martin won a title. I guess it's just my personal opinion.

Dobbs is sometimes right on the money, and sometimes he isn't. He's reasonably accurate to a point, but he sometimes throws behind the receiver and a little more often than that overthrows them (and sometimes they're really overthrown). Even with passes that are caught, he's oftentimes just a little off, which makes the receiver either slow down, turn back, or go up high and expose themselves to a hit to make the catch. When Dobbs *does* hit a receiver in stride, the receiver can keep up their speed and we usually have good things happen to us. Every so often Dobbs will nail a beauty of a pass. It's just a little inconsistent.

Now to be clear, Dobbs runs the ball well and his legs have won us games we would not have won otherwise. As a total package he's a good set, and his ability to run supplements his ability to throw. Probably our best overall threat at QB since Casey Clausen (and ol' "Crazy Legs" Clausen didn't run much or run pretty, but he could flat out throw the ball).

This is actually incorrect. The Hail Mary we completed is designed to have a receiver attempt the catch. The other two are called "crumbers" and place themselves on both sides to catch a deflected or dropped ball. So suck on one negavol.

His job was to put the ball where the group of receivers could make the play. He did that. Stop complaining.

His arm strength has improved and would say he has a little above average arm strength but for the most part has enough arm to make most throws. He problem has always been his accuracy and being consistent with it then can still be turnover prone. The last 2 weeks he has been as good as he has ever been as far as accuracy but has thrown 3 int's and got back a fumble. With him being a SR he still makes some unnecessary passes that he should know to throw away by now. But in 5 games he does have 6 int's and by some unheard miracle he has fumbled 5 times but somehow we have recovered every one of them. But that is a big problem our offense has had the first 5 games..Dobb's 6 int's 5 fumbles but we recovered them all, Hurd has fumbled it 4 times and only lost 1 that cost us a TD yesterday,Kamara has 3 fumbles and also lost 1 of them that was also yesterday..so that is 12 fumbles from our backfield and miraculously only lost 2 of them. We won't always be that lucky and actually our luck on fumbles ran out yesterday. Definitely not something we can continue to do and expect to keep winning..
