So far, our offense has looked outstanding and we have yet to even use a counter, a screen, or a double move route. I think Cutcliffe has been extremely shrewd in keeping the film that Florida will see against us as very bland, with the exception of 1 reverse and 1 fake reverse.

I would bet we don't come close to 500. If we hit even 400, we'll win. 350? Who knows.

Grow up. Two different discussions.
No, you have enlightened me to the fact that I don't need sources nor statistics, nor any kind of educated insight. I can simply consult an arbitrary number of people, of my picking, and that is sufficient to defend any points I want to argue.

Well, its pretty obvious that magazines consider it the way I do, too. I never used that before, because I hate preseason mags. However, scroll through any of them, and returning starters should be in bold, italics, wingdings, something. Some of them aren't slated to start the upcoming season.

I am still curious as to exactly why you think UT might only put up 350 yards against Florida...Florida gave up 300 yards to Southern Miss. I would say we are a much better offense than USM. We put up over 450 yards against Cal in 35 minutes. We put up 415 against AF in a game where they worked to control the clock (which is not what Florida's offense is designed to do.) Also, our offensive plays have been pretty bland in the first two weeks. I imagine we will use a lot more misdirection and double move routes (maybe a hitch and go with Meachem) against Florida.

I worry more about how many yards our defense will give up right now.

As long as Florida does not run the most disciplined and perfectly read triple option in the nation, then I doubt we have much to worry about. However, Chad Jackson working against Stewart (if he takes Johnson's place) could bother me.

The key word is "might." It would be silly to say exactly how many yards UT can put up. I think the range could be anywhere from 250-500+. I realistically think somewhere between 325-375 will be where it falls. Florida's defense, now that we've seen Cal, will be leaps and bounds better than Cal. Against Air Force, we went up against completely undersized, slower players. I don't expect us to put up the same numbers against a top 10 defense.

We COULD, for sure. I think you make a very valid point that Cutcliffe probably hid a lot of what our offense is going to do. That will help in surprising Florida and giving us more yards.

In the end, I think if the running game gets to where it needs to be, 400 yards is realistic. 500 would be an absolute dominating performance, and I don't see why we WOULD do that against an excellent defense. Still, we could.

Chad Jackson is no longer at Florida ....

i agree.

UT faces the option about as much as they face a challenge from a Big 10 team. Never.

I saw some of the FL - UCF game Sat before our game. Percy Hervin (name?) looks like a real talent. We've got to keep those guys in check, very quick all of them.

As for our total yards, don't read too much into the previous games. Florida walked away from S Miss at the end so I'm guessing S Miss had some junk yards in the end, similar to what Cal did against us. Same probably goes for the UCF game, but I don't know what the stats were. The defenses for Cal andr AF won't compare with Florida's. I would be shocked if we go for more than 425 yds - not that our offense isn't capable - but because Florida's D is good.

Harvin. While he does look like a beast for a freshman, he may have some trouble with the noise in Neyland.

Isn't it funny that we are debating as to whether we will produce 400 or 500 yards of offense and yet we are worried about our D. What a difference a year makes.

I watched a little of the Florida/UCF game. They really try to get the ball into Harvins' hands on screens, reverses, option pitches etc.
