lol

Guess some programs just can't handle the most talented HS players

Can't say that is an impressive group of players....maybe someone can find more upside?

Yikes.....

I guess stars don't tell the whole story....

I believe the class we have now is going to prove that...

i'm not sure what purpose this thread serves while we're trying to finish up in recruiting for the year. it seems counterproductive....like saying "don't come here if you are a 5 star"

It clearly proves that only 5* athletes do not go to the NFL, get in trouble with the law, or die.

Was Jesse Mahelona under the influence in that wreck? I don't remember alcohol being part of it?

I don't know about how many stars they had, but Jabari "J-Train" Davis and Cedric Houston were two of the most highly touted running backs coming out of high school. I believe Davis was the number one back in the country. We told these two guys named Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown that we didn't have room for them. Wise decision.

So Fulmer's "great recruiting of 5* talent" really consisted of landing the overrated malcontents no one else wanted? Get outta here.

Is this all of them? Not disputing your list just wondering if this is a complete list?

This is all the ones I found from rivals site. I just thought it was interesting with all the talk about "stars" to see how they turned out. Meachem and Berry sure made the best of their rankings and are living the dream. I wonder why so many of the others got on the wrong track? Do you think being in the spot light at such a young and impressionable age may have negative effects on some kids?

No. I think Fulmer's abilities to both coach and make men are suspect at best

I just thought it was something interesting to look into this off season. I'm sure our recruits will base their decisions on what they may or may not read in a forum. It has nothing to do with the coaches, school, facilities, education, or what their parents think. LOL

I definitely agree with you about that. I'd be curious to know what happened to the 5 star recruits at other programs? Do you guys think it would show the same results?

I don't know if "hell no" is descriptive enough. I feel like I need a stronger expletive

I personally think this thread should be deleted. If I'm a 5* player who's interested in Tennessee and I see fans making threads such as these. What do you think is going to run thru my mind? I see no point in this thread. Tennessee isn't the only school in which 5* athletes attend, and later get into some kind of trouble. It happens at EVERY university. I don't care if your Navy, or the high and mighties of Alabama or Florida. Every school deals with this. I really wish some of our fans would quit throwing out senseless things that shouldn't be said. IMO

Go Vols!

P.S. I'll take every 5* recruit who's interested in Tennessee. & I'd be willing to bet 95% of volnation feels the same way. The more the better.
