#5 Tennessee got a game-high 15 points from Jordan Reynolds and some timely 3-pointers from Ariel Massengale as it survived No. 22 Georgia, 59-51 at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Another ugly win for the girls but Holly seemed happy w/the win. LVs still has a lot of work to do though. It'll be tough to beat Kentucky as usual.

We were horrible on offense--bad shooting; a meager 6 assists and 18 turnovers. That's terrible. Nobody with more than 1 assist. Georgia played Harrison tough, and nobody but Reynolds stepped up. Carter was quiet, Burdick and Graves did very little--and Massengale had an abysmal shooting game (3 for 15). We didn't score a point in first 7 minutes of the half--but Georgia, after scoring 10 quick points to start the second half, and taking a 5 point lead, went ice cold itself for the next 12 plus minutes, thanks in large part to UT's defense--and by then we'd started scoring and took command. Lots more foul shots, and great FT shooting, was the difference.

.... AND we still won. This team has heart and grit and keep winning. Good sign for things to come.

We won and I am happy for the victory but it was butt ugly. We are very lucky with our offense sucking in the worse way. The good news is we played good defense which saved us.

maybe some growing pains. Holly went to a very different line-up early in the game before foul troubles were even an issue. Reynolds, Harrison and Graves all got pulled early and Moore, Nared, Middleton, and Dunbar got major minutes. Now, the starters weren't playing great but the bench-oriented squad had not a lot of time together and lacked an anchor in the post. The run that Georgia went on the in first half (which was a low scoring run really) may have reflected the discombobulated line-up. But, in the end, getting these players minutes when it matters should pay dividends.
