Maybe the line just got shocked last night. They might be turned around because it is obviously talented. But, Dobbs will never be a good passer. It's his weakness. With this team being one dimensional on offense I don't see it being a top 10 or a conference champion. Don't even know if it can win the east. Sure hope it was just a bad night!

1.Kendrick looked like Kendreick of last year
2. We don't throw the ball down field apart of our overall offense
3. Vickers is player
4. Dobbs looked slow

I really dont know what to take from game, but im not as worried as most of you..the first serires the d came out and forced 3 and out, but that fumble on the kick return by sutton kinda took something away...

Oc debord omg his play calling was so predictable ( run run pass) ( run run pass) you not going to be anybody calling plays like that..they dont trust dobbs as a qb plain and simple..if we going to win a national championship or the sec title he is not the answer..sorry

hurd look good he did what he could..the oline need to do better and will do better..

The defense look pretty damn good..thats going to be a good unit..if the would have put up points and stayed on the field, it would have allow the defense to get some rest, but they was on the field entirely to much last night..

Preston williams need to catch that td in the end zone..if he is big time like they say he is that have to be a td!! Where was the freshman wr's..i saw bird come in for a few situtions but they didnt use him at all..all those freshmans that came in this year including my nephew brandon is goin to be the reason why we win anything..

Keep your heads up everybody long season!! Go vols!!

1: DeBord is horrible. Not a fan of this offensive scheme either, but the play calling and play selection were abysmal.

2: Dobbs is a game manager. That's it. Threw blindly into coverage several times, the heave before halftime was something a freshman does, and he is inept at seeing the field. He rolled into pressure several times when the O line did provide protection. His accuracy hasn't gotten better at all. I'm sure he will have a good passing game this season, but in general, his inability to pass downfield, limits this team big time. Appy State lined up and dared Dobbs to throw all game.

3: Tge Oline still looks bad. Jack Jones needs to be playing center. Ours guards never got a push.

4: Hurd is big, strong and fast. However, he has poor vision and poor elusiveness.

Agree with you DTO, but lets be honest, Debord is there to call the game the way CBJ wants it called.

My 4 takes.

1. Vanilla Offense
2. Vanilla Defense
3. O Line sucks
4. Players looked like they could come out and just win on talent alone

Overall the only thing I'm concerned about is our O Line. You could tell the coaching staff and players thought we could do everything with vanilla playcalling and still win easily which wasn't the case. After a while it seemed Butch just wanted to get out with a win whether it be by 1 or 30. I think if we truly opened up the play calling on offense and defense we win easy. Oh well, got a good test and came out with the victory. 1-0

Maybe. Usually a head coach approves a game plan and the OC executes it. We ran Hurd up the middle with 8 in the box, so many times that my head was spinning.
