Almost every coach can get recruits to Tn. So this success is not amazing
#1. Can he develops the players?
#2. Does he have the backbone to bench poor performing players? He didn't replace JG at any point this season? It is obvious that JG was lacking and his performance didn't get better thru coaching as the season progresses

Remember that Butch had recruiting successes also. Remember that Butch had a won against Florida & UGA, which were mild upsets like Auburn & Ky were this year
Let's wait the full 5 seasons before we start praising CJP too much..... Let's look at a full body of work not just small successes

So.....you are basing much of your opinion on the fact that Pruitt didn't bench JG? Your agenda is showing again. I think I'll just go on ahead and celebrate CJP' s "minor" successes, thanks.

BOOM

All you negavols want to tell us how CJP cant recruit here again and how this is just a "meh" class?

Well, it is just the fifth best class in the SEC. Even ole Botch Jones did better than that. LOL

Is it good recruting for a first time head coach? yep.

I mean, Georgia is beating us for God's sake.

The first two statements are debatable but I am seriously hoping that you meant that 3rd line to be in blue font.

If Georgia is beating UT at anything, then UT isnt doing a good enough job. Georgia only succeeds after first having UF and UT fail mightily. their success is our failure. ALWAYS. If they get better recruits than UT, its because UT failed to recruit effectively enough. If Georgia makes it to a national title game, its because UF and UT failed to stop them from doing it. Georgia's birthright is to snag the crumbs from under the master's table. Anything more and they've been allowed to rise above their station.

Oh, good Lord... You can only recruit "effectively" up to a point.
Hi, my name is Rickie Recruit. I am ranked a 5* (one service has me a 4*), and I want to play on Sundays four years from now. I want to get on a team that is always carried on a real TV network (* cough * looking at you, SECN * cough *) and will be in major post-season bowls, possibly the Natty, next year. Gosh, UT, you look like you're gonna do it in a few years, but not in my 2-3 and gone timeline. I'm signing with (fill in the blank: Georgia, Bama, etc) ______________ .

This is not rocket science, people.

You can argue that Ricky Recruit's point of view is unrealistic or it-doesn't-work-that-way or whatever, but this is what highly-touted 17-year-olds are thinking.
