4 Arab Countries Cut Ties With Qatar

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and UAE cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing it of creating instability in region
Interesting that Saudi Arabia would accuse Qatar of creating instability in the region. Pot, meet kettle.

The truth is that Qatar, KSA, Bahrain and the UAE have all been contributing to the instability. If this is true, I'm guessing that a deal has been struck between these countries and someone else to discourage this Qatari effort to get a gas pipeline through Syria.

Egypt isn't really in the same category as these emirates. They've been pretty clear that they want to pivot closer to Russia in the past several years.

Outside of a few Western European has-beens and the US, why wouldn't they pivot east?

You can be taken seriously when you quit bashing western media and stop pushing Russia own media. I mean seriously how do you not see the giant bias you pitch.

It has a bias, but none of you can say that it is dishonest media or untruthful... especially when you compare it to CNN, NYT, MSNBC, etc.

American media snatched the baton out of Pravda's hands a long time ago with regards to propaganda.

I believe Qatar and Saudi Arabia are funding rival factions in the Yemeni Civil War. Not that either side is "the good guys".

Yea Qatar seems to be on the same side as Iran in the Yemeni Civil War. Oil and Gas prices are about to skyrocket.

But you buy their propaganda every time

It can be easily called dishonest. It's owned by the state.

I'm a little confused by this..isn't Qatar pretty close with the US and one of the most western like Arab countries?

When my son was there on a 6 month deployment a few years ago, he judged that the civilians were less than happy that Americans were in their presence. Now, the fact that he mistakenly handed the guy processing him in his ID card with his left hand could have had something to do with that, but he wasn't so sure. :lolabove:

And our President claimed credit for the Arab countries cutting ties with Qatar.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/06/politics/russian-hackers-planted-fake-news-qatar-crisis/index.html

"US investigators believe Russian hackers breached Qatar's state news agency and planted a fake news report that contributed to a crisis among the US' closest Gulf allies, according to US officials briefed on the investigation.

The FBI recently sent a team of investigators to Doha to help the Qatari government investigate the alleged hacking incident, Qatari and US government officials say.
Intelligence gathered by the US security agencies indicates that Russian hackers were behind the intrusion first reported by the Qatari government two weeks ago, US officials say. Qatar hosts one of the largest US military bases in the region.
The alleged involvement of Russian hackers intensifies concerns by US intelligence and law enforcement agencies that Russia continues to try some of the same cyber-hacking measures on US allies that intelligence agencies believe it used to meddle in the 2016 elections.
US officials say the Russian goal appears to be to cause rifts among the US and its allies. In recent months, suspected Russian cyber activities, including the use of fake news stories, have turned up amid elections in France, Germany and other countries.
It's not yet clear whether the US has tracked the hackers in the Qatar incident to Russian criminal organizations or to the Russian security services blamed for the US election hacks. One official noted that based on past intelligence, "not much happens in that country without the blessing of the government."

Qatar confirms that it's working with the FBI and the UK's GCHQ.
