Not sure if its 3 star talent or scheme, but what the Dawgs did on 3rd down yesterday has to have Mullen looking hard at his DC.
When Grantham was with Richt, I remember the prolific offenses that Mike Bobo put on the field. Those teams could score points. But they had to, because Dawgs had a hard time stopping a quality opponent. And they had NFL talent on the D side of the ball. Seems like there were frequent instances of the DBs not understanding the coverage or being out of position, much like what Grantham put on the field yesterday. Had the Gators been able to put up 30, Grantam would have been bailed out. But against the Dawgs, Gators were unable to convert on 3rd down, drives stalled, and a lack of production ensued. Grantham will not take you where you want to go. When he took off with Scooter to Louisville, the Dawgs defense overall became alot stingier with Jeremy Pruitt as DC.

Yes! Considering that they had two weeks to prepare for Fromm, and Georgia didn't really do anything different.....that lack of communication between the gator coaches and the DB's was quite shocking.

I didn't know that Florida considered themselves to be DBU, but they getting shredded by dawgs...

Lawrence Cager takes epic shot at Florida, Jake Fromm chimes in

Grantham simplified his defense once he went to Louisville. His concepts were NFL level like, and college players couldn’t learn them well. That’s why he struggled at Georgia.

On the flip side, what you see is what you get with Grantham. He’s always going to send the house on 3rd and long and force QBs to make quick decisions. Fromm is one of the more poised and quick decision makers in the conference and he made Grantham pay.

Well, Cager had a career day. Props to him. Fromm really likes to get him the ball. Hope he can stay on the field rest of the way.

Agree. That is what was said at the time.

Is that what happened? I only got to watch part of first half; none of second half.

That is the bad part about having an offensive guy as the head coach. He has to trust Grantham, and you can't be that predictable against experienced guys like State Farm Jake, Tua, Burrows, etc.

It works as long as you can get to the QB. Problem is the Dawgs usually held out the RB to help deflect the rush. That's why you didnt see alot of swings or throws to the flat.
