I think that's pretty common procedure ... not sure why, but it wasn't a one-time deal.

Just about every team does this. They put the players up in a local hotel to keep them away from distractions on campus. Very good idea in my humble opinion. Fulmer is there so as to take advantage of the continental hot breakfast, and to be with the team.
