This morning I read of Facebook that the Lady Vols have reached the Sweet Sixteen in 32 of 33 NCAAW Torunaments. Is that accurate? If so, that is an incredible statistic.

They have won every 1st AND 2nd round of the 64 team field since it began EXCEPT the year after we won the national title in 2008-2009 when we lost to Butler in the first round.

The Lady Vols have been in every NCAA tournament since it was started in the 81-82 season. They used to go in the AIAW tournaments and then continued in the NCAA when it started up. They have been in either the AIAW or NCAA tournament every year since 1977. That's 38 straight appearances. As far as I know, no other team has done that.
