32:20 - Dobbs under center. Hurd gets the ball running downhill, picks up 12.

35:15 - Dobbs under center. Hurd gets the ball running downhill, met with contact early, picks up 9.

50:10 - Dobbs under center. Play action pass. Throws for 25.

This is how we beat Florida. If we're willing to mix this into our offense often, and mix it in at unpredictable times, the points will come fairly easily (as they did against Northwestern, a team ranked higher than Florida in both rushing and passing defense last year).

Obviously it's in the playbook.

Open the playbook.

I would open up the offense and line Kamara l/Byrd in the slot, keep Dobbs and Hurd/Kelly in the pistol and run the jet sweep/dive/QB option all game. Then you could run play action out of that all while sending Kamara/Byrd in motion from the slot. I think this game plan would work beautifully if I didn't feel like it would be a complete overhaul of our playbook. Not to mention the O line would have to block for more than 2.5 seconds so Dobbs could make his reads.

Northwestern did NOT have a good defense. We should acknowledge that here. We're not going to run through florida as we did Northwestern--but, yea, mix it up and use a lead blocker.

Different teams different years different examples.

I have a feeling we are about to see a play book open up like crazy. still dont think our Oline is any good but by Gawd were gonna open it up. Our D will keep us in the game. Lets just get productive on offense. GBO 17-10

I really hope this is true but I don't think we have purposely been sandbagging the playbook so far. Hope I'm wrong.

Open the playbook.

DeBord saw this formation and said "Nah we are going to scrap that play, it worked too well"

There is no lack of irony that vn is clammering for the i-formation a decade after firing phil fulmer for running the ball too much

I want a healthy mix.

Imagine what our offensive playbook could look like:

Dobbs in the gun, read option.

HUNH

Dobbs under center. PA Pass.

HUNH

Dobbs under center again. PA Pass again.

HUNH

Dobbs in the gun, Dobbs keeps.

HUNH

Dobbs back under center.

HUNH

Dobbs back in the gun, screen pass.

Florida's defense is very very good. Keep them honest and keep them guessing. It's either that or we rely on field position and Medley's foot.

Need the time of arrival for Debird in the booth... If really early, then that is a good sign he wants it.

We will have to play this game like we have nothing to lose. Go for it on 4th down from the 1 yard line. Fake punt/field goal early in the game. We need to get ahead and stay ahead. There should be nothing conservative about the play calling until we are in the victory formation with 30 seconds left in the game. The marketing department and fans are going to do their jobs pulling out all the stops. It's time the coaches/players do theirs and put an end to this embarrassing streak.
