3 reasons why DD will not be retained

It's not just about apathy, money, or stability, at this point. Dooley has to be fired because he has been so unbelievably bad that it's pretty much waving a white flag at the rest of the SEC if we retain him.

If it's not about those things then what the hell is it about?

Does Dooley have indecent pictures of Hamilton and Cheek?

Maybe not. I'm being optimistic that we can turn around the defense.

I'm assuming loses to Alabama, Oregon, Florida, and Georgia. Truthfully, if we had a decent defense, we could have won the Georgia, USC, and MSU games this year.

Who else do you think beats us next year?

Unless this defense can do a 180 next year then you can probably count SC as the fifth loss. Auburn will change coaches this year and you can't count on them being as bad next year.

Also what DC worth a damn would in his right mind want to come into a situation knowing that A) Dooley won't survive if the team doesn't produce and B) wants to try and turn this defense around in one year?

There is also the very real possiblity that the offense loses CP, JH and TB. Couple that with ZR also gone after this year and you've lost 80% of your offensive production from this year. Yes there is some talent behind these guys, but they aren't likely to replace the production we've seen this year if these guys decide to leave early.

Also what do you think the attendance will look like for the Austin Peay and Western Kentucky game if Dooley is brought back? My guess is we'll be lucky to see 50k in the stands. Then after Oregon hangs 70+ on us the following week, the fan base will be in complete revolt and calling for Hart's head on a platter for bringing Dooley back.

May as well throw in what's shaping up to be the worst class since Fulmer was canned as well.

Looking like we will end up in the 20-25 range at best.

I think we all agree.....he needs to go....most want him gone....however he maybe not be gone at seasons end.

Like so many others on this board, facts mixed in with opinions....basically equals opinions with no facts.

Realistically there will more than likely be no termination of services....for him or Sal

Most of the posters on this board have pureness of heart in their love of Tennessee but the bs needs to stop of this he said she said crap....most are putting the wrong words, lies into others mouths based on emotions versus facts.

Well you just put some of that BS out there...Its not likely at all that either will be retained...especially not Sunseri...

Feeding the monkey and watching it crap.....

My point exactly......

There are many reasons he will be gone and many he will be retained.....I guess we can all dream......

Those who think Dooley is "already gone" have no basis for thinking that. It's just wishful thinking IMO.

Having said that, there are certainly circumstances under which he would be let go. I don't want to see them, not because I like him and think he's great, but because it would be bad for our program.

8-5 and a second tier bowl win is not where we want to be, but it is better than anything we have done since 2007. I am still hoping for it.

Guess we'll see how today goes...

What I mean is that there's really no reason to try to find reasons why Dooley should be fired. Simply looking at the product on the field makes it clear that he's an awful football coach.
