Curious to what you guys think about 3 things I point to as being areas that could have cost us the game at Rupp.

1) I was disappointed that Turner fired up the 3 pt shot with 10-12 seconds left in the first half instead of holding for the last shot. Sure he made it but Kentucky also scored afterward.

2) I was furious with Schofield for dunking Instead of dribbling the clock out at the end.


3) this is my biggest one and I thought it was going to cost us the game. We went from 4pts up to 3 down in that stretch around the 5min mark because we couldn't stop the dribble on the perimeter. We had great success against Kentucky the first game in the zone and they were shooting awful again from the outside. I was shocked Barnes didn't go zone at least a few possessions late.


Now I know many are going to say we won but when it goes down to the wire it isn't always black and white imo

Three things I am happy about:

1. We beat Kentucky earlier this season
2. We just beat them again
3. We’re ranked number 15 in the country

I also thought that Schofield should have dribbled it to the end the game. But understand it was bang bang decision.

Point 3 was the mind boggling part. We straight up gave the dribble drive several plays in a row.

I thought with the success the zone was the first game and how bad they were shooting we would go to it. It worked out but let's be honest up 4 with 5 minutes to go we could have pulled away with stopping the dribble

Bruin I must say I was thinking the same thing during the game on all 3 points you make but completely forgot about them as soon as it was over. Winning forgives all mistakes that occur during the game.

From a prediction of near the bottom of the SEC to a real shot at winning the SEC to discussion of a #1 seed in the dance to a sweep of UK. Hell, I can't fathom complaining....about anything. Haven't been this happy and proud of UT hoops since pearl was working his magic in Knoxville.

Yep.

And I'm sure Barnes thinks much like you, critically.

A 2 point win could have gone either way. Their is room for criticism in a win just as their is room for praise in a loss.

You always take the easy points. Imo

And any team in the country is susceptible to giving up scoring spurts.

He shouldn't have dunked the ball. I agree with you there. There was no one near him, 4 seconds could have easily been 2 or less.

The shot at the end of the first half I can live with because it went in, but it was a bad decision.

I would have personally went zone as well, but it worked out.

I have no problem with him taking points when you can get them. Three points up means you can't lose and nothing like stuffing one down their throat at the end of the game. I thought UK's defense was tough all night and our guys were able to grind it out. I love this team.

I agree.

Seems odd to see Cal without a dominant player.

I someone expected them to get us due to losing to Mizzou.

Speaks volumes about us and them, that they didn't.

I think the clock would have run all the way out. Kentucky players completely quit playing after the TO. If they could have fouled I agree with the posters saying you take the points but I thought the game was over if he dribbled it to the corner
