24 team playoff

Face it, anything outside of the playoffs is hot garbage. I won't be surprised if the powers that be kick it up to 18 teams and it's not inconceivable for it to be 24 teams. I would still expect that 1'st round prospects would opt out because there's no advantage for them to play a series of games with an increasingly more difficult opponent. And if they continue to favor the f#####g Irish, they should make those clowns play the 1'st ranked team to START.

If we keep increasing the field, it makes more fan bases see their team is actuall better. Being the 24th team in the CFP sounds so much better than finishing 24th in the polls. Same difference except it encourages folks to just give a little more to get a better seed. In reality there are maybe 6 teams a year they are good enough to win it all.

Apathy from a fractured brand (what is "college football" right now?) will eventually cause a reset. Fans not having the faintest clue what marque players will be on the team come kickoff next August is verrry different from following/cheering on a group of "boys" from freshman to seniors.

Until then - whatever that reset is, nothing else matters. Has a single game been called/played without significant influence from Vegas lines this season? Hopefully?

24 teams week after the end of the season Army Navy game does not count.

No conference Championships

Home field advantage. Debatable 1 and 2nd rounds (cross over at this point) -- Regional 4 (6 Teams)

Reseeded after each round.

Transfer portal adjustment?

NSD adjustments?

Other adjustmentments.

Bowl attendance numbers were down this year all minor bowls but still sucked. Sponsorship will go away.

I’d like to give you a “like” for both paragraphs. You are spot on with my obviously minority thoughts.
I totally think college football will start losing fans just like NASCAR has done. The almighty dollar said expand, try new things, new markets. Worked for a short time but they lost sight of what made it great. The true experience of southern redneck racing. Having a favorite driver who you connected with. Running in towns you were close to, Or a Sat afternoon listening to or watching your favorite college team, knowing all their names, their numbers, and their great plays. You were connected.
Both have lost touch thinking that regardless of changes the sport made, fans wouldn’t change. They would keep accepting less of what they feel in love with.
As far as Vegas, I am convinced that much money will have an impact on games. And I’m convinced either officiating or player direct is causing the impact. Paid off

Too many teams now. Eight is enough. Look at the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Every brother,1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cousins, uncles, half-brothers, neighbors and enemies get in. They even have play in games for nobodies to get in. Heck, if anyone didn't make it in they need to give them a 'wanted to participate' trophy and no one would be left out. Watered it down and made it so boring I quit watching it years ago. Their attitude is if every school gets in it will create a lot of intrigue. Hey! If we give them three and four steps without drippling the ball that will increase scoring and will put people on the edge of their seats. This will bring the X-Box generation in and make it appealing to them. Yes, that's it! Lets change the rules so the young folks will flock to their tv sets and the games. If they make it many more teams to get in a football playoff I'll quit it too. They already look the other way on calls to help the offense on football. Open it up for a bunch more teams? Not for me.

16 or 32 NO DARN BYES EVER.

4 teams sitting is just dumb.

If no conference championships >
32 becomes 16 on that weekend with plenty of room for p4 and others.

16 become 8 instead of 12 becomes 8

Pick it up from there.

Can still have a few OTHER bowls if needed.

Top ways to ruin college football:

1. NIL with no cap

2. Transfer Portal with unlimited transfers and not having to sit out a year. (Also it should not open until after the season is entirely over)

3. Expanding the playoffs beyond eight teams and extending it into deep January

I'm ok with a 16 team playoff like the FCS does.

They are professionals now...You can feel sorry for them...I don't. And there will be more games coming soon.

Derp... Lets do a playoff with alll the teams ranked... Last plays first and the season can be 6 months long.... Of course injuries will explode and people won't give a chit about regular games
