24/7:Pruitt on Vols' Guarantano: 'He's our quarterback'

The way I see it Pruitt has been very forgiving for JG's mental breakdowns and moments of terrible play and decision making. He's let him keep the job and at times JG has shown improvement.

Why isn't the same opportunity afforded to Maruer or Shrout? He dabbled with them a little but when they made a mistake they rode the pine never to return again. What is the difference between their mistakes in limited opportunities and the mistakes that continually are made in the hours of film on JG.

If you are gonna be ride or die with a QB maybe hitch up to another one for a few games......

Well evidently he still has eligibility due to covid. He's been hell-bent on playing and "proving himself". If the coaches are going to continue to march him out onto the field, why wouldn't he?
Correct....but from our point of view,
he's "proved" stuff already....we don't need more proof, we've seen enough

You think Pruitt will get fired for finishing 5-5 or 6-4 and going with JG all season?

I certainly don’t Fulmer just signed him to a new deal. Pruitt is going anywhere anytime soon.
No. Pruitt wont get fired this year regardless of how we do. However, if he keeps JG in all season and he continues to cost us games, his days will be numbered. This is year 3. If we don't significantly improve in the w/l column, not just improvement on the field, he's gonna end up on the hot seat.

Fulmer just gave him a two year extension, which is basically saying "you've got two more years after this one to get it done".

If we are 0/15 against FL/AL/GA at the end of 2022, then nothing will save Pruitt at that point, and nothing should save him, as it will be beyond obvious that he's not the guy.
