Damn good pick-up. I just hope he sticks around for more than one year. This new era of unlimited free agency for college basketball, kinda sucks, imo. Well, it would suck more if the Vols didn't have Barnes, one of the best at the portal

Yeah, if it's for only one year, then he will basically be paid to learn college bball. The value from him will likely start in year 2, for the most part.

I kept reading that over to see if state was mentioned. I thought maybe there’s another avenue besides high school or NBA minor leagues now.

Prep schools are just HS that are specialized for sports.

I got to observe some 2027 and 2028 players this past weekend and two players I hope Tennessee is on are Beckham Black and Moussa Kamissoko. Beckham Black is a PG, is already ready for the college game, and he has another year of high school to go. I think he will end up being the best player in this class in terms of college and NBA impact (I am confident he will be playing in the NBA as a likely one and done). Kamissoko looks like someone that is going to get much bigger and stronger over the next couple of years, and he is already strong on both ends of the floor. There were a lot of good players, but these two stood out.

Well….if it’s a Burg or Massamba level player not a ton to get excited about. Massamba is now with UC Davis.
