Morris will be I the mix at RB1. He’s the most talented on the roster. Telander shouldn’t see the field outside special teams

Jesse Perry will start at RG, if not RT. But he will definitely start. He's one of our 3 best OL.
Ory Williams will likely start at RT.
Haslam is more of a depth piece and more of a Guard. Sham likely isn't a starter.
Jadais Richard is likely the 3rd CB.
We won't run a 4-3, so only 2 LB positions. Campbell and Carter start there. Spillman and Perlotte are 2nd string.
I'd have House over Finch as the 6th DT, but I guess that remains to be seen.
I'd flip Farooq and Burks. Farooq is more of a SS.

Great thread, thanks for starting it.

I don’t want to get my hopes too high, but if Aguilar is back and if Owings develops our guys (especially along the LoS) the way we all think he will, 2026 could be a special season.

There are going to be some really competitive battles this offseason and they reflect a level of depth we haven’t seen under Heupel. Gordon/Morris at backup RB. Jackson/Smith/Keys at WR. Haslam/Umarov for the 6th OL spot. Perlotte/Spillman/the freshmen at backup LB. Lane/Farooq at Safety. Richard/Hardge/Tevin Metcalf/rising sophomores at backup CB/NB.
All of the DLine spots.

Spring can’t get here fast enough.

Agreed. Going back to his Oklahoma years, every time Heupel had a returning qb; the offense was always better. Look at UT in 21 and 22, and Missouri in 16 and 17 as well. Offense should be able to pick up some slack while Knowles defense gets its footing. I’m thinking we have closer to a ‘22 or at least ‘25 offense and probably around a ‘23 defense. Then in ‘27 the Knowles defense can get closer to the ‘24 defense as MacIntyre gets his footing

Looks like a solid team. Hope we gel, players take big leaps forward, we stay healthy, add a DL, JA gets approval, and S&C produces beast mode.
I believe the change made over the Winter will be a difference maker. New S&C, DC, LB, Secondary coaches, Maker over of the Defensive roster, and the positive attitude of Coach Hype will pay huge dividends this Fall.

Great Job. This looks nearly spot on. Cannot afford any injuries at CB.

This was my crack at a potential depth, which I think is similar to yours in a lot of ways. Still interested to see how the coaching staff will work guys into different positions, especially on the OL DL and DB's..
(I'm also assuming Joey isn't on the team until we get the news..)

Would love to see competition at that position but there's no way this staff isn't giving 70% of the carries to the second year 1,000 rusher.

Heard a lot of praise for Telander from analysts on TV but lots of criticism on this site. Kid has a motor. Will new DC bring out the best in him? I bet he plays a lot.

IMO, the defense will be the unit that carries this team this coming year. I’d feel much better about the offense if we had landed one of the vet QB’s out of the portal(obviously). We’re very good to elite at WR, pretty good o/line, decent RB’s…. GMac is, unfortunately, going to be a major weakness.

If Heupel & staff had confidence GMac was going to be ready, they wouldn’t have gone all out on portal QB’s. Brandon needs a year to develop as well, which he most likely won’t be getting as the chances of GMac staying healthy all year long are slim to none.

Aguilar will be the QB most likely. Not gmac or Brandon

Perry should be starter at RT and for the money and hype keys should be day 1 starter. We’ve seen freshman wr ball out all to often lately to not use him right away
I was thinking that but Matthew’s was also a big time WR coming out and he barely saw the field as a freshman. An argument can be made that the WR room is better now than when he came out.

For sure and I’m not complaining. Just tired of the seeing the Ryan Williams and Toney’s of the world light it up and wondering why can’t it be us
