2026 recruiting

Tristan Rickenbacher has been playing awesome in this tourney. She is not even in the Hoopgurlz top 60 and has scored 20 ppg and averaging 8 steals per game. Not on volume either she is shooting over 50 percent from the field. I would call this a big miss by Hoopgurlz I would say she is easily a top 15 player in 2026. At 6 feet tall she is the ideal type guard for the press with her abilty to steal the ball. Only players I see that are playing equally as good are Big O and Jazzy. Those three have been the top players I have seen thus far.

Other than Harpring and Big Oh does anyone know who we are targeting in this class?
I remember there was a lot of chatter about Trinity Jones visiting (or not...due to storms/weather? I forget) during the season. She follows Gabe and several players on Insta.

I think Jacy Abii visited, too (she also follows Gabe and several players). Same with Brihanna Crittendon, Addy Bjorn, and Kelsi Andrews (who all follow both Gabe and Roman).

Saniyah Hall
Trinity Jones
Oliviyah Edwards
Kate Harpring
Brihanna Crittendon
Jacy Abii
Addison Bjorn
Bella Flemings
Kelsi Andrews
Sanai Green

2026 class is as deep and talented as the Watkins, Williams, Fulwiley, Hannah class.

Saniyah Hall is going to be a superstar. She is so damn good. Her game is already so polished and she still has a ton of room to grow. Whoever gets her is lucky lucky lucky...
I've seen her play and she is certainly elite. Her team did lose to Prawl and IMG in the past tourney. She was the reason they kept it as close as they did. I have been watching the EYBL tourney and a player name Tristan Rickenbacher has been amazing and is not even listed in the Hoopgurlz top 60. She will be a steal for someone easily a top 15 player or better. I don't know what our chances are with Hall I would say not very good. If we could get Rickenbacher, Big O and Harpring going to be hard for anyone to beat three players like that.

I’m not sure where all this speculation is coming from in the 2026 class recruiting cycle, but it’s just that speculation.
If Tennessee is recruiting and has offered a player, then bottom line is there is mutual interest. Every player named in this thread has either been reported/seen on campus in Knoxville for a visit or engages with LV content and coaches posts on social media. Just the other day I saw atleast 5 or 6 of the Top players in this 2026 class interacting with the Coach Caldwell and Coach Lazo private jet photo. That’s about the same these players do with every other team that’s recruiting them so I don’t get why anyone is excluding Tennessee from their recruitment.
Also, I watched enough Overtime Select last summer to know that the 2025 class and 2026 class are equal in talent.
I can already see a false perception starting about this 2026 class that is going to leave a lot of people misrepresenting the facts.

I have no doubt you will keep the board apprised of the “facts”.

the ESPN portal recruiting article is a positive for the LVs - being rated #1 and a picture of Caldwell.

A topic that is seldom discussed on this board re recruiting is the preparation strategy for developing the preliminary board of possile recruits. # size of class; key positional needs; geographical region with highest probability; and then early assessment of player interest - probably beginning two years out; but now in May 2025: situational gambling to determine where to focus scarce resources to get the commitment; not finishing first no matter how close, is to finish last.

High school juniors having completed their school year (I always am taking back recognizing they will make a decision before even beginning their senior year of basketball) will be playing AAU and making scheduled trips, and after school begins many will be working in additional trips.

And blend in the frequent social media and telephone calls - assessment of college and players relative interest AND competition - if X commits, then not Y

new recent twice: NIL recently Cooper Flagg requested a number of Million from Duke not to go pro , The LV staff need to include being used-car salesmen in negotiating with player, parents, and "agent."

finally, there are coaches who are great in developing team chemistry and game play, but openly state they hate the current recruitment and portal exits.

and thus the contined importance of selecting players who really want to be LVs forever. Summary for me: a complex strategy!

I doubt Kim will allow any significant information about their recruiting strategy to get out. When one is killing it on the recruiting trail, why tell anyone how you're doing it?
