Yep. Crafting an NFL roster is a bitch. So few GM’s seem to have a clue.Steelers were close to the top, maybe were the top, last year in money spent on defense..
Finished middle of the pack in yards allowed, and they were terrible against the pass. Close to the bottom in passing yards.
Spent a lot on past their prime vets who under performed
I know for Mahomes he has the rings, but for some of the other stars who talk about wanting rings but they demand huge pay checks. it directly hurts your chance of a ring. Myles Garret was a great example, I know he just got traded but how many times did he want out of Cleveland only to stay?I'm always confused with cap stuff, but looks like they get ~$40m in cap relief this year, and prorate it thru the rest of the contract. That means next year, his cap hit will be $85m, and then it drops back down to normal numbers (mid $50m's). But as of right now, Chiefs only have $3m in cap space. I'm sure they can make more. I figure there was a point to pushing the cap hit to next year, but maybe it's just to hold serve so they don't have to offload big names until next year?

In Mahomes/Chiefs situation they have to realize the reason they haven't made it the last couple years is because the supporting cast keeps getting cheaper/worse. Mahomes is still great and deserving, but his pay check is hurting the team at this point. they aren't going to be able to take advantage, win lots more championships, of having Mahomes because of how expensive he is to keep.
