Well I think she is a far better rebounder than Johnson. I really don't know if she is as good a three point shooter as Johnson she is definitely better at getting to the rim. She has a nice three stroke, but she does not shoot a lot of them in most of the games.
Comparing to Cotie don't know if her handle is as good as Cotie's but she can rebound as well and is a better three point shooter. If she is in the same league with either of those two or Francis as well it will be awesome. Francis just a freshman she doesn't seem to have a solid three point shot, but she can score in the paint and mid range as well as anybody.

I certainly think she could be like those players as a junior and senior. Players get better every year or at least they should. I know Johnson and McMahan are the best they have ever been this season.

If I had to write a scout on Minus I would say three tier scorer, strong rebounder who has the speed and athleticism to get in the passing lanes for steals. She fills a stat sheet all around player.

Not that deep. Gabby Minus game if I was assessing her ability on film resembles Tessa Johnson at SC and Cotie McMahon.

The closest player to a true post that has come out of HS in recent years is Oliviyah Edwards. Just because she is versatile doesn’t mean she isn’t a post. Just watch her film and how she finished at the rim.
The correct wording would be it is a plus to add depth by signing this player.
With the portal, Edwards and Minus gives the staff what they need in this recruiting class.
And if someone on the team enters the portal again, that’s why the portal is for to fill in what’s needed.

Okeke is a better rebounder.. she’s a better passer and she runs the floor and seals better then Edward… the two flaws is range on her shot and her FT shooting

Potential LVs 2026-2027 core roster. If you can’t comprehend what Coach Caldwell can build around heading into next season (got enough) you don’t need to be talking the sport out loud. Makes no sense to push a fake narrative. Tennessee doesn’t need this player. Never did and never will I don’t care where they go. If it ends up being Tennessee then still they’re just a piece to the puzzle.

You would definitely be in the minority saying we don't need Okeke. She just adds to what you posted and she doesn't take minutes away from any of them she becomes the Spearman replacement and Edwards becomes the Barker replacement. JMO they would be as good or better a combo as Barker and Spearman. So yes I want her it just makes us a lot better and much harder on every SEC team to beat.

PG-Mia Mya Boyd

Were going to need to pick up at least one more post she is a super positive over probably anyone that will be in the portal.

I showed you who could return based on projections and you waste time with your own personal information as if it changes the fact the roster will be solidified either way. It doesn’t need your or my approval. What they have as a core is what they need. What you typed is your opinion about a player that is irrelevant to Tennessee success one way or the other. She is not a positive over any player in the portal because you don’t know who is going to be in the portal.

Well they are recruiting her and if she decided on Tennessee they won't wait on the portal if she were to decide before it opens. At one time the rumor was Tennessee or UConn, but that seems to have changed. What you showed me is a roster that doesn't have enough inside players even as many as this years team. In the SEC you can't play small most of the teams have big huge players you have to guard and go against. I think we need her you don't no problem still hoping we get her whether you want her or not. Probably won't end up at Tennessee, but she is a positive not a negative don't care who we have.

I showed you a core. And you acting like this player finalizes the core is false. It’s your opinion. The returning core is not simply my opinion it’s a fact. Those players returning whether they add this player is what they need to build around via the portal.
If any current player leaves that can return, again they have the portal to find replacements.
Any option left in HS recruiting is not any better than what will be available in the portal. Not about what you want. That doesn’t make it a need because you’re wasting time focusing on a player not committed here as if that’s the only option when there will be plenty options when the portal opens.

This team has not defended bigs well all season and you don't think we need to replace what we're loosing. We need 2 portal bigs in a very big way. Edwards may be ok but she's a freshman could be good but still need a lot of help.

It's Volfan2012's opinion. And his post IS about what he would like to see. The LV's may or may not pursue Okeke, it's up to them.
Isn't it Volfan2012's time to use as he sees fit ? It could be said, with a lot more accuracy, that you're wasting your time listing, ad nauseam, the stars attached to the current LV freshmen class.

Not sure how you figured “ad nauseam” applied to the dialogue in defense of a poster frequently quoting my opinions over and over again to direct that towards me, yet that conversation has moved forward. Thanks for your input.

Well two things you don't really know if that is the returning core. We won't know what that is until after the portal closes and the WNBA draft is over. Second this player that you evidently don't like is not your average high school player she is from Spain and has much more experience than your average freshman. She is eligible for the WNBA draft in 2027 so don't know how long she will play in college. There are about five to six schools that are at the top to sign her they are UConn, LSU, Texas, South Carolina, and Tennessee are five I know. That should tell you something right there the best teams this year in the country want to sign her. All of them have a lot of players that are returning, but that is not stopping them from wanting her.
So if were lucky enough to sign her don't be mad accept were getting better. That would be the logical thing to do instead of totally insisting she in not relevant to any future success. That just doesn't apply to any of the teams that want her on their roster. That includes Coach Kim Caldwell and Lazo who would take her in a minute.

Finally it does not finalize the core I suspect we'll have 14 on roster again you almost have to with our style of play.

juat be honest Texas pieces have stabilized South Carolina and Tennesse. the havethe guards and wings to beat TN and the post players to beat South Carolina. Wings are equally or better than TN … it is what it is…Lady Vols need Okeke…. You can’t recruit 3-4 transfers every year
