2025 NBA Draft and Offseason

One other thing with Giannis I am really curious about. He's played with a stretch 5 for the last 6 years. If a team trades for him, I'm really interested how said team will play the 5 spot.

God: “What if I created the two most perfect basketball specimens for the wing position and make them twins, but they also are incapable of shooting?”

Piggybacking off the BS/Russillo conversation today, if there aren't many suitors for Garland and Cavs are looking to offload, I think the Jazz may be in the mix. Depending on what we get with the 5th pick. If we end up with Tre Johnson, than Garland makes no sense. If we end up with Ace Bailey or Kneuppel or something, he makes a ton of sense. I don't think he's a floor-raiser to the point that we'd be out of the bottom 6 next year. I think he's more of a ceiling raiser for a team that we develop into in 2 years (hopefully).

Early impressions of the top of the draft.

Cooper - of course
Harper - seems like a clear #2
Edgecomb - would be really nice to be in the top 3

Fears - Not quite 6' 2.5" and only a 6' 5.5" wingspan and filthy with turnovers. I like everything else, but this is a stay away in the top 5.
Bailey - crazy upside and highest bust potential
Kneuppel - Considering those 2 are options ^, I'm OK with KK
Tre Johnson - I'm good with him

Demin - Another high risk/high reward guy. I'm not ruling out Ainge doing something crazy like this (maybe by trading back)

Everything I've read and watched on Bailey is just a massive stay away. If you could get Edgecomb or Kneuppel, I think that's a big win

And now I'm in Kevin Durant trade rumors! What a one-year turnaround

I have no hope for this franchise. Cade is a #2 that has to masquerade as a #1. Ivey doesn’t have the mentality to be great. Ausar has a blood clot and can’t shoot. Duren won’t play defense. They announced the job for POBO a month ago and not one interview has been announced. Monty Williams got $78M guaranteed and doesn’t care, completely phoning it in and has five years left. The owner hasn’t won a playoff game in 14 years. And for the third straight year I’ve fallen the most I can in the lottery. I don’t know if I can do this anymore.

Zach Lowe saying Harris/Ivey/Stewart and a 1st for Durant after saying the Suns aren’t going to get a ton for Durant…WHAT?!?!

The Knicks firing Thibedeau without having any idea who they want to replace him is so classic James Dolan.

The ESPN halftime crew is so ****ing terrible.

Myers: “You know that was the first real half that the Pacers have played.”

What the **** does that even mean?!?!

The #2 pick is kinda weird for the Spurs because Fox and the Rutgers kid are gonna conflict. Edgecomb probably makes more sense for them.
Meh, I'd trade Fox. He's not that good* anyway

*good on a bad team, but not a piece to build around

IDK. It really just depends on how much you believe in Harper.

Fox was pretty damn good in Sacramento the 2 previous years. He had the Warriors on their heels and then ****ed up his hand and that's why they lost the series. Then the next year they won 46 games. Those are pretty good teams, and he was the guy. I don't think they ever put the right team around him.

The money's also kind of a bargain on him.

@n_huffhines Im Matt Ishbia and you’re Brian Gregory. What deal you like better?

SAS: Vassell/Barnes/Sochan/#14/2027 ATL 1st

HOU: Green/Smith/Eason/#10

I think they’ve built a foundation of talented young players. Give Ime a year. I imagine there will be a tweak here or there but to get to Durant you would need to cut well into that foundation.

The salary situation is going to force them to make a move soon, probably. But yeah, I don't blame you for trying to keep them together longer to see what you got
